[ Jim's staring seriously at the camera as the broadcast begins, concern visible on his features. He might be easily recognizable to most everyone on the Fleet, but as soon as he starts talking, it will become obvious that he is not the same man, or at least not having the very same memories. Not of this place, that's for sure. ]

My name is James T. Kirk. I'm... not entirely sure how I got here, but for what it's worth, I'm one of the new arrivals.

[ He presses his lips, glancing around. ] This isn't the first time I've been brought to a universe other than my own, but I was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar experience. Coming here from a place that's not your reality of origin.

[ A pause, ] Specifically, has anyone here heard of Riverview, or the Quarantine?

[ He can't help a hopeful look. A familiar face, any familiar face, will be welcome. He's looking for a specific one, admittedly, but he's not holding his breath on that one. ]

[ Once he makes that broadcast, he'll be exploring his new location, so he knows what he's dealing with. He can be found roaming the ship, poking his head into all the nooks and corners, and possibly trying to sneak his way into off-limits locations, if there are any. Stop him getting into trouble, or help him? Or just come say hi to a not-quite-new face. ]

[ alucard finally had his sword which was about 3/4th the lengths of him and a proper shirt which he had picked up on the planet before. he was just returning to the ship when he spots jim. ]

What kind of reality is called "Riverview"?

[ Jim does a bit of a double-take when Alucard approaches him, the sword particularly catching his eye. He eventually looks up at the man, easing into a friendly smile. ]

Hi. You're one of my shipmates, I take it?

[ananym]

[ alucard may look human save for the small glimpse of his fangs and of course, his unearthly looks. ]

I am. I work with security.

[ Jim's glad to see Loki's face-- only for his hopes to be crushed when it becomes obvious that Loki has no memory of Riverview. ]

It was a city within a set of two walls on a moon, surrounded mostly by nature. It was built to be a Quarantine, but Riverview sounded nicer. There was a river going through the city.

[ He pauses. ] You weren't there, were you?

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki huffs. ]

Apparently my presence is prolific in all realities, despite my having no memory of them.

[ Jim's got some experience with 'unearthly', and aboard a starship, he's sort of expecting there to be all kinds of different species. Different beings, even, especially after what he's seen in Riverview. He likely won't be shocked when he learns what this man really is. ]

Right. I'm a pilot, it seems. Still getting acclimated with the place. [ He smiles and offers a hand out. ] James T. Kirk. Jim is fine, by the way.

Sorry. [ He does manage a small apologetic smile. ]

It's just... we were friends. You had left Riverview just a few weeks before me. I guess I was just hoping you'd remember me, is all.

[ananym]

[ he takes a moment before shaking it. ]

I am called Alucard.

[dothelokimotion]

[ his nose scrunches up briefly at the idea of friends. but this is the first person to say that. ]

I'm afraid not. Though I imagine you are exaggerating events a little.

[winscenario]

[ It's stronger than him: that comment earns a laugh from him, and he shakes his head. ]

Right, God forbid Loki of Asgard has friends. It would ruin your whole reputation.

[winscenario]

It's nice to meet you.

[ Eventually, probably sooner rather than later, Jim is going to be thinking idle thoughts and realize what Alucard's name backwards spells as. ]

How long have you been here? Are new arrivals like me a common occurrence?

[ his eyes narrow. ]

Having met me, surely you can see why I'm not convinced.

[ alucard shakes his head. ]

I could not tell you, I'm afraid. I only arrived recently myself.

[Victor's hair is still darkened from the Halloween costume and he is wearing the most casual outfit he could find: a dark shirt and jeans. This one is definitely his James, for which he’s much relieved]

Let me guess: you're not on the Heron, are you?

[winscenario]

Oh yeah, this is nothing short than what I'd expect from you. But if you knew me at all, you'd know that's not a deterrent for me.

[ loki waves a flippant hand. ]

I cannot say I do, though there is another version of you loitering around.

Taako stares at the communicator for a moment, his elf ears twitching in confusion. He's pretty sure Jim isn't new?]

Did you go back and reappear without me realizing it, Jim? Beeeecause I'm pretty sure you're not new.

[Okay, this is a first for the Bull. A guy who looks just like you is here already. Bull's pretty intimately familiar with said guy. That guy didn't go anywhere.]

You sure you're James Kirk?

[winscenario]

[ Jim shrugs, smiling. ]

That's alright. It was a shot in the dark. In any case, if you've arrived just recently, and I've gotten here now, I can only assume they do get newcomers every so often.

[winscenario]

[ Jim's eyebrows raise at that. ]

Really? [ That's a new one. ] And he looks exactly the same as me?

[winscenario]

[ Jim's heart leaps in his chest when he sees Victor. The darker hair tips him off even further that this is the Victor he remembers, but... after his talk with Loki, how can he even be sure. ]

No. But I can be there in a little bit.

[ He takes a slow, careful breath. ] You remember me, right?

[winscenario]

[ This would be more confusing if Jim hadn't already been told that there's another one of him on another ship in the Fleet, apparently identical to him. (Maybe he should start thinking about cutting his hair short again... no just kidding, he wouldn't.) ]

I'm new. The other me isn't. I've been told there's another Jim Kirk on board already, but I'm not him.

[ He tips his head at the camera. ] I do know you, for what it's worth. Taako, right?

[winscenario]

[ Third time this is happening, so really, Jim doesn't even bat an eye at the confused comment. He does offer an amused smile, an eyebrow quirking up as he tilts his head at the camera. ]

I'm sure that if I wasn't, I'd have realized at some point during the past three decades, don't you think?

[ Letting out a soft sigh, ] I'm not him. The other Kirk. I've been told there's another one of me around already.

[jolting]

[He gets a playful look in his eyes] Hmm, let me think. Star ship captain from Iowa. Incredibly brave, so charming he can make friends with anyone... Yeah, I think I remember you.
