Who: James T. Kirk
Broadcast: Network - open to all
Action: all around the SS Red Fish + SS Heron
When: Right now, and throughout the following week
NETWORK BROADCAST ▹ VIDEO;
[ Jim's staring seriously at the camera as the broadcast begins, concern visible on his features. He might be easily recognizable to most everyone on the Fleet, but as soon as he starts talking, it will become obvious that he is not the same man, or at least not having the very same memories. Not of this place, that's for sure. ]
My name is James T. Kirk. I'm... not entirely sure how I got here, but for what it's worth, I'm one of the new arrivals.
[ He presses his lips, glancing around. ] This isn't the first time I've been brought to a universe other than my own, but I was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar experience. Coming here from a place that's not your reality of origin.
[ A pause, ] Specifically, has anyone here heard of Riverview, or the Quarantine?
[ He can't help a hopeful look. A familiar face, any familiar face, will be welcome. He's looking for a specific one, admittedly, but he's not holding his breath on that one. ]
Thank you in advance.
ACTION ▹ SS RED FISH
[ Once he makes that broadcast, he'll be exploring his new location, so he knows what he's dealing with. He can be found roaming the ship, poking his head into all the nooks and corners, and possibly trying to sneak his way into off-limits locations, if there are any. Stop him getting into trouble, or help him? Or just come say hi to a not-quite-new face. ]

It was a city within a set of two walls on a moon, surrounded mostly by nature. It was built to be a Quarantine, but Riverview sounded nicer. There was a river going through the city.

[What the?
Fuck??????????
Taako stares at the communicator for a moment, his elf ears twitching in confusion. He's pretty sure Jim isn't new?]
Did you go back and reappear without me realizing it, Jim? Beeeecause I'm pretty sure you're not new.
no subject
I'm new. The other me isn't. I've been told there's another Jim Kirk on board already, but I'm not him.
[ He tips his head at the camera. ] I do know you, for what it's worth. Taako, right?

You sure you're James Kirk?

I'm sure that if I wasn't, I'd have realized at some point during the past three decades, don't you think?
[ Letting out a soft sigh, ] I'm not him. The other Kirk. I've been told there's another one of me around already.

[Felix looks faintly contemplative.]
I don't think I heard the name 'Riverview', but not everyone gave me names anyway.

[ So people were just as prone to vanish here as they were back in the Quarantine. Not a very comforting thought. ]
That's alright. It was mostly a shot in the dark. Luckily I did get one positive answer, so that's... actually, considering who it is, it's worth a lot.

Are you looking for someone, Captain Kirk?
[ Maybe his own Captain or someone he knows? He didn't really think he knew anyone from his ship. ]
no subject
[ His own expression isn't as confused, at least not anymore. His reaction is delayed, but a number of people already have confused him with the other Kirk, so it's not much of a surprise when it happens again. ]
I'm sorry, but I don't know you. I'm not the same Captain Kirk you know.

Nice to know I'm good looking in at least three other universes.

It's fine. Spock handled it just fine, so why wouldn't he? He's got this. (They've got this???) ]
I'd wager we're good looking in all of them. [ It's a joke but also. End him when he loses his looks. ] So not a first for you? That's a relief.

Hi, James T. Kirk. Haven't heard of Riverview or the Quarantine, but this isn't my first interdimensional kidnapping adventure. I hope you learned about doubles in yours. [She did. Even if the other Kitty had been younger and weirdly valley-girl sounding so the differences were more noticeable.]
no subject
In my universe of origin and Riverview both, as a matter of fact. So this is kind of weird, but not completely new. We can work things out, I think. [ At least they get along??? Not sure if that's a good thing or not. ] I'm afraid I don't know you, though.

Hello. Do you need something?

But visiting the med bay might prove useful for another reason. He smiles and nods, stepping further inside. ]
Hi. Yes, actually. I have this injury, it's all healed by now but the muscles still get a little sore. Any chance you have something I can use for that?

This'll be interesting. Hope you don't mind I call you James.

[ He offers an apologetic shrug, smiling at the camera. The look of the man on the other end of the video doesn't faze him any. He was already used to living among all different sorts of species before Riverview, and his stay there has only helped in that regard. ]
Maybe Kirk? I don't mind that, if you call the other one Jim already. Or anything else you want, really.
[ Just not Tiberius, please. ]

[Pavel has come across many Kirks in his time away from home, but two in one universe? That's new. And a terrible idea. It's stressful enough trying to keep one out of trouble, thank you.]
I haven't heard of Riverview or the Quarantine, no, but I have been to other universes. You are looking for someone?
no subject
[ He knows Chekov's got another Kirk here, so for him it wouldn't really feel as long. For him, though, it's been over a year and a half since he's seen anyone from his crew. Excepting Bones, of course, but he'd been gone for a long time too. ]
I've found him, actually. I was hoping to find others, but no such luck yet. I guess it was just the two of us coming here.

I see you've already talked to the other Kirk.
[Keith looked... pretty much exactly the same as he did in Riverview... even with the recent changes like getting older and the scar on his face. Except, depending on what questions were asked and what answers came out, new!Kirk would soon realize this wasn't the same Perimeter Guard kid who'd been interested in shuttles and dating a tiny powerhouse of a girl with color changing hair.]

[ Jim smiled, genuinely grateful. Granted, some people seemed quicker to deduce what was happening than others, but it was still nice, not having to explain himself, or his presence here. Not that he could, honestly. ]
You're Keith, right?

Jim? Uhhh, did you knock your head on something? 'cause it's sounding like you have amnesia or something.

No. I mean– I know there's another James Kirk on the fleet, but I'm not him. I'm... another one.
