NETWORK BROADCAST ▹ VIDEO;

[ Jim's staring seriously at the camera as the broadcast begins, concern visible on his features. He might be easily recognizable to most everyone on the Fleet, but as soon as he starts talking, it will become obvious that he is not the same man, or at least not having the very same memories. Not of this place, that's for sure. ]

My name is James T. Kirk. I'm... not entirely sure how I got here, but for what it's worth, I'm one of the new arrivals.

[ He presses his lips, glancing around. ] This isn't the first time I've been brought to a universe other than my own, but I was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar experience. Coming here from a place that's not your reality of origin.

[ A pause, ] Specifically, has anyone here heard of Riverview, or the Quarantine?

[ He can't help a hopeful look. A familiar face, any familiar face, will be welcome. He's looking for a specific one, admittedly, but he's not holding his breath on that one. ]

ACTION ▹ SS RED FISH

[ Once he makes that broadcast, he'll be exploring his new location, so he knows what he's dealing with. He can be found roaming the ship, poking his head into all the nooks and corners, and possibly trying to sneak his way into off-limits locations, if there are any. Stop him getting into trouble, or help him? Or just come say hi to a not-quite-new face. ]

[ Jim shifts on the bed too, dizzy and groggy as he crawls over and lies down partly on top of Victor. He wipes the mess on his chin on the back of his hand, not really bothering with the tears on his cheeks, and instead smiles and shakes his head at Victor. ]

Don't– [ His throat feels rough, and he clears it with a deep cough, trying again. ] Don't apologize. That was wonderful, it was... special. I wanted it.

[ Stroking Victor's face, he cups his jaw and leans in to kiss him. ] I love you.

[He accepts the kiss with a sigh, brushing his thumb across James's cheek. He still doesn't like that he made James cry, but he'll take the other at his word that it's okay]

Love you too, geliebte. I'm really glad you're here. [He reaches out to rest his hand over James's, twining their fingers so their rings brush against each other]

[ He really doesn't want Victor to focus on those tears. They were more of an automatic reaction than actual crying, and he doesn't want Victor thinking that he'd hurt him in any way. ]

I'm really glad that... we get to be together. [ His fingers curl tight as they weave through Victor's. Just thinking of coming here without him feels too painful. He can't even imagine how he'd have felt, had he been in Victor's shoes. ]

It's not exactly what we talked about, but we are here in space and we're exploring the universe. All that exercise I did in the Quarantine's going to come in handy.

Mm, I think you've already put that exercise to good use, just now. [ He teases, giggling a little despite himself. ] But I look forward to having all sorts of new and exciting adventures with you.

Heh. Well, I never had any problems with that kind of exercise.

[He reaches up, combing through James's hair, eyes flickering to take in how their rings look on the left hand. It makes him so happy he's probably glowing]

Oh, absolutely. I'll attest to that.

[ He purrs a little when Victor combs his fingers through his hair, smiling when he spots the doctor looking at their rings. Catching Victor's hand, he pulls it close and kisses the ring on his finger, chuckling softly. ]

I can't believe we're getting married. I think this is my wildest adventure yet.

Wildest, but... the best one, too, I think.

Oh, absolutely. [ He smiles, nuzzling against Victor's cheek. ] I love you. I can hardly wait for us to actually be married.

I love you too, James. [He shifts to get as close as he can. He just needs a moment to snuggle with his fiance]
