[ Jim's staring seriously at the camera as the broadcast begins, concern visible on his features. He might be easily recognizable to most everyone on the Fleet, but as soon as he starts talking, it will become obvious that he is not the same man, or at least not having the very same memories. Not of this place, that's for sure. ]

My name is James T. Kirk. I'm... not entirely sure how I got here, but for what it's worth, I'm one of the new arrivals.

[ He presses his lips, glancing around. ] This isn't the first time I've been brought to a universe other than my own, but I was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar experience. Coming here from a place that's not your reality of origin.

[ A pause, ] Specifically, has anyone here heard of Riverview, or the Quarantine?

[ He can't help a hopeful look. A familiar face, any familiar face, will be welcome. He's looking for a specific one, admittedly, but he's not holding his breath on that one. ]

[ Once he makes that broadcast, he'll be exploring his new location, so he knows what he's dealing with. He can be found roaming the ship, poking his head into all the nooks and corners, and possibly trying to sneak his way into off-limits locations, if there are any. Stop him getting into trouble, or help him? Or just come say hi to a not-quite-new face. ]

[ Which is some pretty weird shit in its own right, but. What's his life if not just a bunch of weird shit happening. ]

Sorry. [ He manages a smile. ] Whatever you call him, you can call me something else.

[Well, that sounded like an offer alright. He crossed him arms, looking thoughtful.]

Okay. You're Jimmy until I can think of something better.

Jimmy? Seriously?

[ He bites back a groan, instead settling for a quiet sigh. ]

Alright. I guess... if it's temporary, I can live with that.

It's temporary unless it fits, Jimmy.

[He smiles, though.]

Unless you're going to be touchy about it.

No, it's fine. It's just... It's what my mom calls me, is all.

[ Yes, he's thirty and his mom still calls him Jimmy. He pretends he doesn't like it, but doesn't he really? Who knows. ]

That works perfectly. So what do I call you?

[He grins. He never knows what the reaction will be, but there's always a reaction.]

The Iron Bull.

[ The only reaction is an eyebrow raise. Jim's heard a lot of weird names in his time. This guy's seems a little too literal, though. ]

Damn, that's a mouthful. [ There's a really dirty joke in there, but his lips just twitch in amusement. ] I'm guessing people usually stick to 'Bull'.

Yeah, if you've got a big mouth.

[He grins, because yeah. He knows it's dirty.]

Most of the time, but I like the article in the front.

[ He can't help it, he just bursts out laughing at that, grin wide. ]

Oh, I'll bet.

[ Look, Bull clearly isn't a small guy. In any sense of the word. ]

Alright, if you'd like. I'll stick to Iron Bull, then.

[Yeah, he likes you, Kirk.]

The Iron Bull, but you do you.

Usually my boyfriend takes care of that. [ Wink. He thinks he's so funny. ] Alright then, sir. Since you ask so nicely, I'll keep that in mind.

Hey. Sometimes you need a fix and nobody's around to do it for you. Don't knock it.

[He gives a shake of his head.]

[ Jim shrugs at the answer the title gets. ]

No, but you are Captain of a starship. That's how things work, where I'm from. If it helps any, though, I was just teasing. I'm a Captain too anyway, so it seems a little silly to stick to formalities.

Damn right I am, so what I say goes.

[Though there's a curl to his lip that suggests he's bullshitting regardless.]

Do I look like a formal guy to you?

[ Jim just hums at that, nods like he absolutely means to do as told. Except no, not really, not ever. ]

Not in the least, no.

[As long as he accepted his Captain's orders on the battlefield, he'd take some lip. He did from his boys back home all the time.]

Damn right. I'll do it if I have to, but it's not my first choice.

[ Jim Kirk, following orders? Well, Bull can try. Though he will agree to certain plans and tactics should he think them to be the wise decision, he wouldn't call that as taking orders. ]

In that case, we better skip the formalities. I'd rather do that myself, if I can help it.

[There's the difference between an organization and mercenary band, Kirk. They're flexible like that.]

Good. I'm not big of formalities anyway.
