A. Suit Shopping

[So, as some people might remember, Lyall as a wedding to attend which just happens to be his own, so he needs a suit, so that means shopping.

He already has colors in mind, so he's going to be wandering the local shops - at night, because of the werewolf thing - to choose fabric and have the thing made, he's definitely not buying off the rack.

If you've never seen Lyall shopping before, you might be surprised. It might not be as obvious as with Biffy, because he wears mostly neutral colors and nothing too flashy, but he has a keen eye for fashion (the fashion of his time, of course), and you are likely to find him deep in conversation with a shop attendant regarding color associations, fabric, and cuts.

Come and give your opinion on his choices, you might even learn something.]

B. Accessories

[Once the suit is taken care of, there is a need for... well, all the rest. Cravat, cravat pin, gloves, a hat... so many things. Lyall will be hurrying between shops as he compares wares before choosing what he feels would suit him the best.]


C. Closed to the Blameless

[So here you have a werewolf coming back from the Planet with shopping bags. He's a bit tired from all the shopping to be honest. He enjoys it, but in small doses, and this is a lot to do at one time, especially for a special event. So he needs a break.]

Hello. I was just about to go make some tea. Would you care for some?

D. Bonus Headache (Blameless or Iskaulit)

[So a certain werewolf has been informed that as part fo the wedding ceremony, he is expecting to write vows.

He has never done that before.Honestly he had never even heard of that before, but people were adamant that this was necessary. So here he is with paper and pen and a cup of tea and pondering.

Randoph Lyall has written many a thing in his life. Detailed reports are a specialty of his. As a werewolf, poetry or anything of the like are rather out of reach, but he's read some.

Being asked to put into words what Biffy means to him, as putting it into words that will be said out loud in front of everyone... he's desperately drawing a blank here. Maybe it's because he's so old. More of a wolf than even he thought.

In frustration, he rubs his face, then throws the pen down on the table to go and make some more tea or order some more. Unlikely to help, unfortunately, but it will keep his mind occupied for a while.]

Then I am sure Biffy will be even more touched by the effort. Look, let’s just work with what we have and if you think of another we can add it in.

Right, so, let’s construct those attributes into a paragraph. Just describe Biffy. Again don’t worry to much about words, just get it on the page. Like you’re writing a letter to someone explaining what Biffy means to you.

[Lyall tries to think of how to do it simply, and then just decides to go with the flow of what he'd tell someone else about Biffy, just as Kirk explained.

This actually brings back memories of trying to make Conall understand how different Biffy was, and of Biffy's start as a wolf... he's not going to write a novel about it but he does include some of their difficult and trying times as well.

It actually sounds better than he expected, and he looks slightly surprised as he raises his head again.]

_{[ Kirk offers word suggestions when asked, but otherwise is a silent spectator, a resource to be used if necessary or wanted. He's actually quite curious, since Lyall nor Biffy had been to very forth coming about their personal relationship other than it was quite obvious they loved each other. Kirk had never pried much either, though, to be honest. ]}

Well, you write enough reports in your life....

I know this day will be everything you two dream, and deserve.

_{[ And God help anyone who tried to ruin that because Kirk would personally kick them from one star system to the next if they did. ]}

[Lyall didn't twitch when Kirk touches him. In fact, he was almost supernaturally still.

Wolves were gregarious and they loved contact for most of them. While Lyall was more reserved, it was true of him too. the only one he touched with no reservation was Biffy, though, and Ulaz was getting to be a close second. Most other people somehow didn't really dare, even though he really didn't look intimidating in his opinion.

Lyall had never thought he would one day miss the way Conall used to drape himself all over him, but sometimes he did.]

You had better. Biffy won't let you in if you are not dressed appropriately.

You will have demonstrate some consistent improvement before that can happen, Captain.

[He loves modernity, science, a lot of the new stuff, but the manner of dress is just simply unacceptable most of the time.]

The giant leap forward Biffy performed on my closet and my using it doesn't count?

_{[ He pouted at Lyall - look, he wasn't even wearing a black shirt this time! It was white with a jacket over it. Which... he did before anyways, but now he just did it more. ]}

It does, yes.

That swimsuit was definitely a setback, though.

[Sorry, Kirk, he is never letting you live that one down.]

I already explained the swimsuit. I had no others available in a style and color that I liked, and we hadn't shopped for them.

I would like to note, neither you or no Biffy have offered alternatives on that front.

I would have had I known beforehand, Captain. and I do not believe the current environment lends itself well to that type of purchases, unfortunately. But whenever w get next to some place where it is possible to buy these things, then you should definitely go on another shopping trip.

I was serious about the color, though. Deep blue with red undertones, and do try to stay away from yellow.

Do I get a pass on yellow if that is the color my day uniform?

Do you actually have to wear the uniform here?

[Or do you just do it because it's convenient?]

Honestly, whoever decided on yellow for this needs a talking too. Yellow is a difficult color for most people and few wear it well.

I really don't think "will this look good on everyone" was a consideration when choosing the colors for the uniforms. Red is engineering and security. Blue is medical and science. Yellow is command. They were probably more concerned with bright, primary colors that be be quickly identified in emergencies.

Well, it at least makes practical sense, which is what is expected of a uniform. But if you can get out if wearing it, then I would if I were you.

It's not exactly something I can get out of. It's my uniform with my ranking bars and department... I mean it's my uniform.

Of course, but... you are not in your world here, are you? Who else but you even knows what the uniform means?

Unless you have some emotional attachment to it, of course.

Well, I don't go wearing my uniform around here. I have it, but I don't wear it often.

It is emotional, for me anyways. It's... a piece of home. That, and my formal uniform.

[Feelings are a different matter. People get attached to all sorts of things, after all.]

You should still go shopping with Biffy more. He loves it, and you will get a lot of flattering outfits out of it.

I know you don't believe it, but I did like my outfits before. And I like my outfits now.

But I would go shopping with Biffy if it made him happy and we could spend more time together as friends. I would love to hang out with you more as well, Lyall.

I would certainly not be opposed, although you might find me rather... uneventful to be around on most days, Captain.
