[There's a new face on the Heron and she's decided that she wants to say hi to the Heron as well as to the entire Fleet! And, being the intelligent young lady that she is, she figures out Shin-Ah's communication devices to get a video broadcast going! Which means now everyone is treated to a screen full of her face.

She looks thrilled and actually starts waving at the screen before saying hello.]

P-kyuuuuuu! P-kyuuu!

[She's happy to meet you all!

It's at this time Shin-Ah (that strange mask of his sure is still on his face) notices and suddenly he can be seen on the screen reaching for her.]

Ah...Ao...

[She lets out another noise before running up his arm to go and sit on top of his shoulder, gently bapping his cheek as if to show everyone this is her person. Shin-Ah hands her a little nut before reaching over to end the recording.

So everyone on the Heron? You're sure to see this cute little squirrel around all the time now. Because she's Shin-Ah's friend and she goes almost everywhere he does. But she also loves to make friends and cuddle with other people too! Which means that she may end up in a room you're in before Shin-Ah can realize and follow after her.]

[Those eyes sure are handy. Victor follows along, grateful that Shin-Ah keeps finding the easy paths. He's looking forward to seeing this tree and what it might offer him]

[At one point when Shin-Ah can see that Victor might slip if he goes one way, he holds out a hand to have him walk a different path. They may not be close but this is one of his ship mates so he's determined to keep him safe. Even from slipping and falling.

Before long, the tree comes into view and Shin-Ah points to it.]

Thanks. [He says when Shin-Ah keeps him from falling.

When they reach the tree, Victor takes a moment to just look at it]

Okay. So what happens next?

[He shakes his head to say he doesn't know as he moves closer to it. Honestly he doesn't know how the tree works because he honestly hasn't talked to anyone about it until Victor.]

I saw it and came to see it. I was talking and then...

[Ao chirps to say that she's what "and then" is.]

So you just started talking and the squirrel appeared? Did you specifically mention her?

I was...talking to Yona.

[Moving closer to the tree, he goes to crouch near it.]

I can't be there to protect her. But I promised to get stronger for her.

[It's hard to put into words that he'd been letting go of his guilt over abandoning Yona and the others. Something that isn't his fault at all.]

[He kneels down next to the other, running his fingers over the tree's bark]

Then perhaps your friend came to assure you? Or help you in some way?

Ao?

[He looks to her then to the tree.]

I think...she was a gift.

[He can't pinpoint why. It's just this feeling he has.]

Yeah, I get that, but did you think about her? Were you wanting her to be here?

[Sorry about all the questions. Scientist here]

I was thinking about my friends. Ao is a friend.

[Does that count?]

I miss them.

What about the price? What happened after she arrived?

[Even though he's already thinking about something the tree could give him]

[Ao apparently decides it's her turn to talk to Victor.

Rushing in front of him, she waves about with her hands. Through a game of squirrel charades she waves to Shin-Ah and the tree and makes noises. "Shin-Ah was talking to the tree!"

Then the tree waving again and her curled up. "The tree brought me!"

She points to Shin-Ah and mimes waking up. A squeak and she jumps and leaps onto Shin-Ah's face. Yes. She literally does that now to show exactly what she did when she saw him. While she can't speak at all, she's decently good at charades.

And is now just hanging onto Shin-Ah's mask while the young man just lets her.]

[Victor watches in fascination as the squirrel mimes out the story. Which, although cute, doesn't really tell him if Shin-Ah did anything special to make the tree give him the squirrel]

So it seems like all I need to do is talk to it. That's... deceptively simple.

[He's spent too many years in Storybrooke to trust he can just ask for something and get it]

[Shin-Ah wishes he could help more but he's really not sure how to. Well other than to say...]

The people who live here may know more.

[Since they, well, live here.]

[She lifts a paw then darts over to tap his leg before running back to run up Shin-Ah's arm to his shoulder.]

[There's a moment of quiet before he speaks again.]
