[What was Lord Akeldama to do with himself when he didn't have the life he normally lived at home? No drones, no going out to the see the latest show at the theater. None of it. So he had headed to the library. True, he typically only read what appeared in the gossip rags now-a-days, but that didn't mean he was incapable of a good book.

Well... that's if he could find a good book...

Curiosity had compelled him to look at one of the books on Earth history, but he clearly hadn't gotten very far, sitting there, drumming his nails against the table as he stared at one section]

Planet side - shopping!
[At the first possible opportunity, Lord Akeldama was shopping! He was sadly lacking in clothes and he wanted so much to be able to burn those horrid jumpsuits that had been given to him. They were a travesty against all things fashion after all.

So he could easily be found in the formal section of a clothing store browsing different options that fit his taste... in as many colors as he could possibly afford. He didn't like not having funds to just do whatever he wanted.

He had also found a fabric store while he was there, browsing quietly. Not like he could do anything with it after all. An unfortunate side effect of metamorphosis, no more creativity.

That was until he had happened to find a blue paisley fabric. It was exactly his style!]

This would make the most perfect waistcoat! A shame though...

[Of course here is Lord Akeldama and he has to make this a post. Why? Because he's showing off in a way. So he'd seen all of this about "ugly Christmas sweaters" which why would someone do that to themselves. But he had found something else and he was playing this off as if it is completely normal.

So Lord Akeldama is dressed in dark brown trousers, a sage green jacket, a rose gold cravat, and this vest as if it were a waistcoat. Nothing odd to see here, just a vampire in an ugly Christmas vest...]

This truly is a remarkable place. It has been so long since I've had the chance to visit a city such as this.

So what have been your favorite things to do here? I would like to know what all I have missed thus far.

Oh, man. Christmas shopping is fun so far, and the hot springs are amazing. But I think my favorite thing was staying at that fancy castle for a night. Sure, it almost literally cost me an arm and a leg, but heck if I wasn't gonna go all out for me and my boyfriend's one year anniversary.

[And yeah, he's definitely happy about that.]

But I gotta do some odd jobs now to have enough money for all the Christmas gifts I need to get.

[...Pause, as he actually looks at Akeldama properly.]

Aaaaand that's some sweater you've got there.

Oh, was it simply amazing? It sounds like it would be. You will have to tell me all about it sometime. A fabulous way to celebrate!

I know, dear. Simply dreadful having to work on such a planet that seems to invite a winter holiday.

[Oh look SOMEONE noticed. This gets a smirk from Lord Akeldama]

More of a sweater vest I think they said. It has toggles and everything. The captain of the Blameless seemed so determined that I thought I'd give it go... with a touch more fashion sense.

Well, I can't exactly tell you everything...

[He gives a little wink.]

But I can tell you some of it sometime, if you'd really like. It's definitely worth the work I have to do now.

Shiro got you to wear it, huh? Why am I not surprised?

Well, of course not. Not about that. I don't need to know about that part of the stay.

I would be more curious about the particulars of the room.

[A very faint shrug so as not to mess up the fall of his jacket]

In a way. The tradition intrigued me, but I wanted to try it in a way that was more... suitable.

That's right! Keith's the guy I've been dating, who I mentioned earlier.

Oh? Yeah, he must have had Kosmo with him. He's an adorable space puppers, isn't he?

[Lance is happy to get to see what the space wolf looked like when he was younger and smaller, really.]

I doubt it's going to be anything spectacular, but I'm going to do the best I can to have us look nice and sophisticated and fashionable.

Yes, he was quite an adorable specimen of a wolf. Oh, it is a shame I can't be around animals as much as I used to.

That is the important part, my dear tea biscuit. [Oop you have a nickname. He likes you] Looking nice for the wedding. Of course we do have the responsibility of not being too fancy or we risk outshining the happy couple.

Of course! It'd be rude to. It's their day, after all. I mean, I like to think I'm pretty stunning in a suit, but I know how to tone it juuuust right for a wedding.

[He’ll soon realize Lord Akeldama’s nicknames can change instantly and in the same conversation]

It’s because of what I am. Most animals consider vampires and werewolves to be predators so they want nothing to do with us. Polite conversation doesn’t usually work on them as I'm sure you know. Cats simply don’t care so they really are the only creatures that will willingly be around a vampire.

Absolutely! I have had to do the same thing, toning down my attire to not overshadow the lovely couple.

Huh. I guess that makes sense. I never really knew much about vampires and werewolves before I met Biffy, honestly. We don't have those back where I come from... Or if we do, they super keep to themselves to the point that no one else knows.

[Shrug. Hey, if aliens are real back home, why not vampires and werewolves too?]

Biffy is an excellent source in all things werewolf. He's also almost as good a source in all things vampire as I am. He was after all originally being groomed to possibly receive the bite.

It is possible they could be in hiding. We used to have to do that as well, before Queen Elizabeth officially integrated the supernatural into society. Those were dark times indeed.
