The Ceremony

[Heat has been set up for the guests at the wedding of Biffy and Lyall. After all, it’s an outdoor wedding with the snow around them. Which allows the guests to appreciate the beauty of what has been created. A beautiful archway with elegant white flowers that are tied on with blue ribbon. It’s simple but there’s a beauty in that which works for both grooms.

Shiro stands under it, ready to marry the grooms who also stand there, looking across at each other. It’s so clear they’re in love with each other. Just the way they look at each other says as much. And oh what a handsome pair they make with Biffy in a blue suit and grey cravat and Lyall in a grey suit and blue cravat. Ever the fashionable pair, even at their wedding. Perhaps especially at their wedding. And with that, Shiro begins speaking.]

We are gathered together on this day to witness and celebrate the marriage of Randolph and Sandalio.

There's a lot to be said about joining two lives in the union of marriage - but these two men right here have committed to each other in a way a human like me will never fully comprehend but still can watch with the most admiring respect. The past months, I've watched you be each other's support, strength and best friend; to be alpha and beta in a perfect combination of roles that reflects who you are, but also simply two people that came together and found each other through the endless passing of immortal time.

Papers and words will never make justice to what you've been through and achieved together, and yet I'm extremely joyful that this ceremony is being celebrated. We come together not to mark the start of a marriage, but to strengthen one that already exists. Your relationship is yours and only yours, but at the same time, you want the world to acknowledge it, to share it with other important people, to be able to shout "yes, we're together!". It's the greatest honor to be able to give you that. And I'm sure that after seven or eight centuries together back on Earth, you'll be ready to do it again when the world finally understands it. Because yes, you'll still be together by then.

[Hand gesture to indicate both of them.]

It's time for the the grooms to exchange vows.

[Lyall turns towards Biffy, taking both of his hands in his and looking up at him. He’s had a hard time coming up with words he was happy with, but he’s rather happy with what he ended up putting together.]

Many things happened to lead us here. Some of them were unexpected. Many of them were sad. I worried about you for a long time, and I know you too were worried about yourself and finding your path on this road you never wanted to tread. I tried to guide your way through it as well as I could, and before I even noticed, you were the one walking ahead and opening the path for me.

I've always known you to be kind, loyal and dedicated. I've seen how powerful you are, and how you use that power to raise other people around you and not bring them down. You saw me at my lowest and yet you stayed by my side, shed tears for me when I couldn't do it myself, and made me feel safe, and warm and protected even when I believed I would never know such a feeling again.

I know I will not always be what you want me to be. I might not always agree, and I might be stubborn but I will always strive to be the man you believe I can be, because with you I am more than myself.

[Biffy smiles throughout and then laughs softly before touching Lyall’s face. It’s his turn now.]

There was a time in my life where I was lost. I was unsure of where I was going or what would become of me. During that time I was lost to darkness I thought I would remain trapped in for eternity. Until a warm glow guided me out of it.

You complete me in a way no one else ever has. I feel whole when I am with you. The world is clear and I know I can do anything when you are with me. For me it is more than just the tether I share with you but rather the feelings that we share. Sometimes I feel that words could never fully express exactly how happy you make me feel each and every day that we share together.

You are more than my Beta, Professor Randolph Lyall. You are my mate, my rock, my missing piece. I love you more than words will ever hope to express. So it is on this day I am honored to marry my greatest treasure and the only gift I could ever ask for on Christmas.

[Lyall thought he was done with blushing whenever Biffy speaks about him… apparently not so, even though it is less spectacular than it used to be. He still lowers his eyes for a second, swallowing around the lump in his throat before he looks back up. And with that, Shiro speaks again.]

May we have the rings, please? [Procyon prances up and Biffy grins at the dog as he takes the rings from him, giving one to Lyall.] Sandalio, do you come here freely and without reservation to give yourself to Randolph in marriage? [He murmurs his confirmation and slides the ring on Lyall’s finger.] Randolph, do you come here freely and without reservation to give yourself to Sandalio in marriage? [He also murmurs his confirmation and slides the ring onto Biffy’s finger.] And so now by the power vested in me, it is my honor and delight to declare you husband and husband. You may seal this declaration with a kiss. Congratulations.

[The kiss they share is brief but so full of the love they share for each other. And with that, they are now married. It’s time to celebrate them.]

The Reception

[The reception for the werewolf wedding is something to behold. You don't have to worry though, it's indoors. That means it's plenty warm for the beautifully decorated space. All of which is in blue and silver as per the wedding colors decided by the grooms (aka this was Biffy's idea). There is plenty of time for mingling now and either delivering gifts to the gift table or visiting with the grooms.

Should wish to there is a dance floor with music selections approved of by the grooms (again...Biffy) for the evening. But don't worry, they've been good enough to allow for selections that aren't strictly classic to allow for people of other eras to have their fun too. So break a leg on the dance floor and show everyone what a good time there is to be had there. Especially if you've had a few drinks.

After all, there is alcohol here. And it's free. But try not to get too full on it. Because Taako and Lup have provided a twelve course menu for supper. The food is sure to be something you'll be talking about for ages to come. Please do enjoy every last morsel of it. You are sure to leave full and very satisfied by the time the sun rises. (This is a wedding held entirely at night so hope you're ready to party into the morning!)

So relax and enjoy yourselves. But don't be surprised if at some point the grooms vanish during the evening only to reappear and spend the rest of the night mingling as wolves. You are at a werewolf wedding, you know.]

((ooc: Shiro is wearing this. This is his dog, Procyon the ring bearer, and he's wearing this. His plus one is Allura.))

1. Before the ceremony

[Weddings have become something important to Shiro, he's realizing now. First Lunafreya and her second chance at life, whose memory still makes his heart ache - she chose him to walk her even before becoming captain. Then the news from home about his ex - the wedding that never was. And now Biffy and Lyall, doing here what they can't do at home, which makes it such an honor to be chosen for it.

Nothing can go wrong.

He isn't in the organization group, not exactly - he's talked about a few things with Biffy, but most of the stuff is in the hands of Lance. But this is Shiro, who likes stomping leadership everywhere, and already had a big scare when the werewolves disappeared. He knew they would come back, but would it be in time for the wedding? Thankfully, yes, it would, but still. Worry! So he goes from corner to corner checking everything is in the right place and ready to go.

You can find him: a) guiding you to you seat; b) telling you "watch out!" when you almost trip over a ribbon or "careful with that" when someone pokes a decoration; c) practicing his speech and his dog's walk to the archway. He's memorized it for the actual ceremony, but at the moment he's going over the cards he's made to guide him.] I hope it's not too long...

2. The reception

[Shiro is mingling all over the place! The grin won't leave his face, it's obvious how good his mood is. Come and have fun with him!

a) He respects the first dance, but after that, it's free to go. So if you're someone he likes and aren't on the dance floor, he'll approach you with a smile, bowing and offering his metal hand like the gentleman he is.] May I have this dance?

[b) Prompto has been hired for photography, but that won't stop Shiro from wanting selfies for his own memories. So if you are friend, don't be surprised when he puts an arm around you and raises his tablet for a pic.] Smile for the camera, buddy.

[c) When dinner starts and wine is served, Shiro doesn't waste time and stands up raising his glass.] To Biffy and Lyall! May your marriage be blessed with love, joy and happiness.

[He drinks some during dinner, but he doesn't get drunk, he can control himself. Besides, he's a big guy, it takes quite a bit of alcohol to get to his head. And the food is so good, he's trying out every course. Yes, all of them. Shiro is far from a foodie, but he needs the calories for his beef, ok... feel free to tease him for it.]

Reception - B

[tempredmental]

[Keith actually did manage a smile for the picture. He then gave Shiro a light, playful shove to get some space once the picture was taken.]

You and your pictures, man.

[He chuckled, though, a little less grumpy about it than last time.]

[padadin]

[Laughing, he playfully shoves Keith too, but steps back for that personal space anyway.]

I need proof of you looking this nice to show your mother later.

[tempredmental]

You're assuming she didn't already see me before I got here.

[Keith smirked a little.]

So? How was it? Officiating over your first wedding... 'captain'.

[padadin]

She may want pictures anyway. We don't see you like this everyday.

[Though now he's curious to learn what Krolia said. To the dating Lance thing too, now he thinks about it.

But then Keith makes his question and Shiro gets distracted to ask. He beams, not even caring if Keith may be teasing.]

It was good-- it was great. It was such an honor to be able to give them this, Keith. They're from an old Earth - this is more important than it looks.

[tempredmental]

I don't have a reason to every day. [He smirked a little and then shrugged. But Shiro's reaction to the question was great. Keith smiled.]

Yeah. You looked like you were having fun up there.

Reception

[sandywolf]

[Once the meal is mostly done with and people are just having fun mingling, Lyall will somehow pull himself from Biffy's side for a little while to approach their officiant.]

Thank you very much, Captain. That was a very touching speech.

[padadin]

Hey, Lyall. Congratulations again. [He'll say it fifty times tonight, that's how happy he is for them. And it shows.] You're welcome. It was my honor, and I'm glad you liked it. I kept rewriting every day... I wasn't sure if I was being correct to express the bond you have a werewolves.

[sandywolf]

[It does show, and if you know where to look, you can see Lyall is really happy too. It might be true that this type of ceremony doesn't really mean much to him, but it means a lot to Biffy and that's all that mattered to him in the end.

So Lyall might not have a goofy smile on his face, but he's still visibly more at ease and relaxed than usual. Even if his eyes keep straying in the direction of his husband.]

I had a hard time writing mine as well, Captain. Honestly, I have trouble formulating these things into words. They are much easier to convey as a wolf, and Biffy has heard it all from me before. It took some effort to put it down in a way that would make sense to others as well as ourselves.

[padadin]

[After living with him for so long, Shiro definitely can at least tell Lyall is more at ease, and that's amazing, because indeed he didn't care for the ceremony as much. That's the powers of weddings for you!]

Words don't ever feel like enough to express feelings, do they? I think you did a great job, Lyall. Especially the ending. "With you I am more than myself" - that was beautiful.

[sandywolf]

Thank you. But to give credit where credit is due, Captain Kirk helped me out with the actual writing of those.

There is so much I have told Biffy without words, at times I forget how to do it.

Before the ceremony

I have a feeling it will be perfect.

[He smiles as he catches Shiro practicing his speech. Again. Laughing softly, he walks up to him and reaches up to rest a hand on his shoulder.]

You'll spoil the surprise of what the speech is if you keep this up. Lyall and I have very good hearing.

[padadin]

I keep forgetting you can do that. [He chuckles and puts the cards in the inside pocket of his jacket.] I feel silly to be worried about this when you're here. How are you feeling, Biffy?

[dandyofawolf]

Excited. Eager. Honestly I'm not worried at all since I know things will go well. It's challenging to remain patient.

[padadin]

Patience yields focus. [He replies almost instantly. How could he not.] But it's good to hear you aren't nervous. Do you need a distraction?

[dandyofawolf]

I won't say no to one. We can look at it as a way to distract you too so you won't spoil the surprise of your speech. [And he winks playfully at him.]

Reception - A! Because this needs to happen

[scalpelofmarmora]

[Ulaz had been hanging around near the dance floor. Not like he was hiding or anything, if nothing else because he was terrible at hiding among humans. He hadn't attempted dancing quite yet, but then...]

You... want to dance?

[padadin]

Yes. But you don't have to join me if you don't want to, it's just an offer.

[He can always finds someone else, but he must admit he's curious about Galra and dancing.]

[scalpelofmarmora]

[There was a momentary pause before Ulaz answered]

I would like to. I have not for a very long time.

[Please help him, Shiro]

[padadin]

[Oh! What an interesting answer.] So you do know how to.

[Ulaz dancing. Now he wants to know more! He raises his hand once again - do Galra even do it like that or...?]

Is there anything I should know about Galra traditions I may accidentally offend?

I do, but has been a long time.

[He looks at the hand offered. Nope, not familiar with Earth style of dancing]

Suddenly pulling out a blade or gun is considered bad form.

[It's a joke]

Reception - A

<sub>[ Kirk has chosen to wear his formal uniform. It was possibly a touch sombre, but he only wore it on the most special of occasions for the most special of reasons, and this surely counted. Plus, it was also the safe choice considering Biffy and Lyall's attention to fashion detail.

He set his glass aside when Shiro asked, grandly taking that metal hand like it was the most natural thing in the world and stepping right in, wrapping his arm around Shiro's shoulder. ]</sub>

Why, sir, I thought you would never ask.

[padadin]

[Shiro doesn't find it somber at all, he's used to this kind of thing. He also considered wearing his Garrison or Paladin uniform, but decided against it, especially since he's officiating.

Shiro laughs at the comment, his other hand falling on Kirk's waist since he already did the shoulder.]

If you were waiting for this, you could've asked for it yourself, Captain. [Just a bit of teasing as they dance, don't mind him.]
