Okay, as it turns out... it's really hard to get in contact with people when you don't have their names or their ships or their numbers. But—I'm trying this responsibility thing and I want to give those powers back. The ones I had to borrow last week? But I can't find any of you! Good job. Bunch of winners here.

[And sure enough, Allen will head to the Starstruck. Even if he's not completely alone, as Katara decided to go along. But hey! No Sokka around! You probably...don't want to know how they accomplished that]

[But whatever, he's here and knocking on the cargo door. Muttering to himself:]

[ and katara will just nudge his arm with hers when he starts muttering to himself, and she mutters right back to him: ]

Hey, at least he's giving them back. This'll work out.

[ Aaron's there. Still in Adra's face because he doesn't quite trust Allen like he trusted Katara, but he's definitely been waiting at the door before anyone else can show up and make this even worse. ]

[Right right. He nods at what Katara said. Soon he can have his eye back and this all be over with. Ugh. He hates feeling like he constantly has to check over his shoulder for demons. ]

[He'll look up when "Adra" opens the door]

Yes. And just like we said, Sokka didn't follow. Can we come in?

[kyasdaughter]

[ katara will soften slightly when the door opens, because she's simmered down a little from the misunderstanding before. ]

You look different every time I talk to you, huh?

[ He looks between them, then steps aside and motions for them to get in. ]

Keeps you on your toes, right? Anyway, I've still got 'em and I didn't do shit with 'em so—just like I said.

[He moves into the cargo bay. Yep. doesn't see any dead bodies in here yay!]

Well... I appreciate that.

[ she sticks close to allen, not out of fear - just because though she doesn't know him well, she knows him better than aaron, and being without her powers entirely makes her uncomfortable. ]

Does it work just like before?

It wasn't too bad. Neither of them really fit well.

[ It's an idle comment, but he nods to Katara. ]

Exactly like before but backwards. Her first?

[He gives a little nod. He's not sure if it's a good or bad thing his eye didn't give him trouble]

If that's fine with Katara, alright.

[He'd get it if Katara wants to use him as a guinea pig really]

[ katara just tosses a little sideways smile to allen, because she's fine with this as it is. ]

[ ... because she's really eager to get her bending back tbh. ]

[ He watches them both, then shrugs. Giving the power back is a lot like having it taken. He removes it from himself and holds Katara's shoulder before placing it in through her forehead. ]

There. Good as new. Feels better, right?

[He watches, it looks just like what happened with Tadashi earlier that week, at least....]

... yeah.

[ there's something like relief in her voice. she opens her eyes, before reaching to bend some of the water out of the sling on her side. she gloves her hand in it, wiggling her fingers. ]

[ He smiles, pulls back, gives a large shrug. ]

I said I'd give it back. [ To Allen: ] Your turn. I bet you definitely want this thing back.

[ That is definitely sarcasm. ]

[There's a slight relieved smile as Katara waterbends. Good. That'll definitely make Sokka and Katara feel better.]

[Annnd he can tell that's sarcasm. But it doesn't faze him. Without missing a beat, he'll answer sincerely as he steps forward]

Yes, I definitely would like it back please.

[kyasdaughter]

[ it's then that katara realizes that she doesn't actually know what was taken from allen. so she shoots him a sidelong glance, curious, and makes a note to ask later. for now, though, she's quiet. ]

[ He starts the same process all over again, obviously concentrating on it but... as an aside, he starts talking to Katara. ]

Yours was probably the easiest to mess around with and even then I couldn't get the hang of it. How do you even do that shit?

[Allen meanwhile closes his eyes and let's Aaron do his thing, half bracing himself for it to hurt again jeez.]

Lots and lots of practice. With a master, if you really want to learn what you're doing.

[ she has her eyes on allen, cautious. ]

[ It doesn't hurt as much going in. Uncomfortable, maybe, like trying to fit somewhere that's started to heal around the gap, but Aaron's careful and not actually very cavalier with handling powers. ]

Eh, maybe someday I'll actually get to keep a power like that.

[save_the_souls]

[...Eh. Still nowhere near as bad as the time with the candle. He makes a slight face, but the power goes in just fine. When he opens his eyes, the left eye activates for a moment as he checks.]

[Then, he breathes a sigh of relief and relaxes a little.]

...Do keep, do you mean someone gives you their power permanently? [Willingly?]

katara is surprised, but not exactly taken aback. that's really interesting, and not quite what she'd been expecting. maybe later she'll ask him about it, if she feels like he's comfortable talking about it.

but aaron's remark gets her attention again. ]
