It isn't impossible. There are multiple ways to get power: knowledge, money, achievements... After that, it's a matter of knowing how to play the game.

But if you don't have an appetite for politics, it does make things more difficult. I despise all the passive-aggressive court dances. I've always been straightforward, and I'll continue being that way when I am a magister.

Yes, they do. That's what I have, and what Adra has. They mark us as blood elves. We're tainted by residual demonic energy so people automatically write us off as corrupted or evil or something else. [It's a big deal to him.] The ones who are not fel-touched act like they are above reproach, and they will kill us given the chance.

But, no. No one cares here. They should not care about your face, either.

So even if while you were here you could hide all that shit that would get you killed back home, you wouldn't do it? Because nobody here cares? What if any of the not-touched ones showed up?

I can defend myself. And if I can't for some reason-- I know the people on my ship wouldn't stand for it.

I don't like lying. It might solve problems for a short while, but they always come back threefold and worse.
