ACTION:
Steve has just about managed to acquaint himself with the strange, new idea that he is now in space when the next curve is thrown his way. One second he's standing in a hallway, just about to walk up and ask someone if they have any idea what he's doing here. The next, he's...on a bridge. With confetti? And are those pudding cups? What the Hell is going on? He blinks around, his first instinct to always look and see if there is some sort of fight about to happen. Hands are in fists and he really wishes his shield was somewhere around here. But he dropped that in the dirt a few months ago, so fat chance.

Steve will stand down slowly, once no one attacks him right off the bat. Sadly, he's been in this position before; in a strange place and time, not knowing why or how. His thoughts are back on Earth and with the friends he's broken out of their floating prison and now, seemingly, abandoned. Maybe there is a way out of here. Or, maybe, he's needed here more? Hopefully someone is going to be able to talk him through it all.


VIDEO:

Many hours later, Steve sends out a broadcast, finally understanding how and wanting to reach out to anyone else that might be here. Anyone else he might know.

"Uh. Hey. My name is Steve Rogers. Hopefully I'm doing this right and you can all see and hear me. I just arrived about..." He looks down at something and then scrubs a hand over his face as though in disbelief. "Two days ago. A lot got packed into those days, it seems. But I'm sure you all know how that feels."

Steve pauses, shifting a bit before getting closer to the camera, face serious. "I've met some people here so I know that what happened to me has happened to a lot of other good people. I have questions and a lot of things I want to look into. But first, I want to know who else is out there. Who else might have the same questions I do and who wants to start getting some answers."

He moves back and tries to smile. "Or who maybe just wants to talk? Anything. So, yeah. Thanks. How do I....um. Is it this butt-"

Video cuts off abruptly.

[Steve looked over at the man, straightening himself up as he immediately recognized the military look on someone else. Strangely enough, this was comforting to him, in its own way. He knew how to talk to command and this guy had the look of command. While he was still lost and confused, it was easy to fall in line]

I think I was just sent to this ship, sir.

[Maybe the 'sir' was overkill but this seemed like a ship of some sort. That meant there was a captain which, for once, wasn't him by default. He could make a fool of himself and err on the side of formality]

My name is Steven Rogers. From...Earth?

[He wasn't sure if 'Earth' was a forgone conclusion or not, yet. Probably not.]

Welcome to the S.S. Bishop, Steven Rogers.

[Hux offered his gloved hand to shake. While he wasn't wearing a military uniform, he stuck to dark civilian clothing and wearing gloves. It was hard for him to give up the gloves as they had always been part of his military uniform. Working in engineering he needed them more for protection.

He did note that the other had been previously or still was a soldier judging from his stance and how he responded.]

I'm known as Hux here and is the First Mate and a fellow engineer for the ship. It's a pleasure to meet you. I am not from the Earth, but I am familiar with the planet. Many that have arrived to the Fleet are from some various of that planet.

[Steve shakes his hand perfunctorily, not entirely sure of all the rest of what he's just been told. A variation of Earth? That's certainly something interesting.]

Where are you from then? You...look human. [And for all he knew he'd just insulted the man. Good job, Steve] No offense meant. I know some other people from other planets that look human, too. Really makes you think about the universe, huh?

[Hux returned the hand shake with a firm grip.]

No offense taken. I'm originally from a planet called Arkansis, but this doesn't make me not human. It's in a different galaxy verses what you may know. So Earth is new to me.

[Arkansis. In Steve's head he thought about 'Arkansas' pronounced wrong. But then the bit about another galaxy struck him harder and the planet's name was forgotten ]

Another galaxy. People really are grabbed from all over and brought here, huh?

Indeed, they are. Different times, different variations, different galaxies, it doesn't stop them.

What is your augment that you received upon arriving here?

Security, sir. On my planet I was a form of planetary security as well so I am confident I can be of service.

[But that begged the question...]

What sort of things will I be securing the crew from?

Well, I believe there hasn't been much here? We really aren't a military fleet. It appears to be more civilian with some military standards. Our ship right now is the only one that can really fight back if we had to engage in a fight. But that was only because our Captain made that her priority.

You'll find that this is more of a relaxed atmosphere with only a few guidelines to follow. Your job as security is just basic defense. I can show you where the weapons are kept and if you need something made I can probably help make it.

That's good to know. Not that I mind a fight, of course. But I've been fighting awhile. It might be nice to relax just a little while I figure out a way home.

[At the mention of a weapon being made, Steve smiles wistfully]

Don't suppose you have any vibranium to make a shield? I...left mine. Back home. You'd be surprised how effective I am with one.

[Hux frowns a bit as he tries to think of what he has in his stash and shakes his head no in answer.]

That name doesn't sound familiar, but perhaps I can put together something that might be temporary for you? From time to time we do receive stuff from home, so maybe one day you can get that shield?

[Steve remembers how he dropped that shield in the dirt. How Tony told him it wasn't his.]

Maybe. Would be nice if it showed up. I had it for awhile.

[He forces on a smile and nods encouragingly instead of giving into his private grief]

A temporary one would be swell though. Anything you could manage would be very appreciated, thank you. It's a kind offer.

Seems like it's a lot more personal then you're trying to let on. Hopefully what I put together will be close to what you're looking for. I doubt I will be able to fully replicate it with out the proper supplies.

That would be nice. Anything you come up with will be great, I'm sure. It's a tool, after all.

[And he already voluntarily got rid of it once before. It was special but it was a lot of other things too.]
