ACTION:
Steve has just about managed to acquaint himself with the strange, new idea that he is now in space when the next curve is thrown his way. One second he's standing in a hallway, just about to walk up and ask someone if they have any idea what he's doing here. The next, he's...on a bridge. With confetti? And are those pudding cups? What the Hell is going on? He blinks around, his first instinct to always look and see if there is some sort of fight about to happen. Hands are in fists and he really wishes his shield was somewhere around here. But he dropped that in the dirt a few months ago, so fat chance.

Steve will stand down slowly, once no one attacks him right off the bat. Sadly, he's been in this position before; in a strange place and time, not knowing why or how. His thoughts are back on Earth and with the friends he's broken out of their floating prison and now, seemingly, abandoned. Maybe there is a way out of here. Or, maybe, he's needed here more? Hopefully someone is going to be able to talk him through it all.


VIDEO:

Many hours later, Steve sends out a broadcast, finally understanding how and wanting to reach out to anyone else that might be here. Anyone else he might know.

"Uh. Hey. My name is Steve Rogers. Hopefully I'm doing this right and you can all see and hear me. I just arrived about..." He looks down at something and then scrubs a hand over his face as though in disbelief. "Two days ago. A lot got packed into those days, it seems. But I'm sure you all know how that feels."

Steve pauses, shifting a bit before getting closer to the camera, face serious. "I've met some people here so I know that what happened to me has happened to a lot of other good people. I have questions and a lot of things I want to look into. But first, I want to know who else is out there. Who else might have the same questions I do and who wants to start getting some answers."

He moves back and tries to smile. "Or who maybe just wants to talk? Anything. So, yeah. Thanks. How do I....um. Is it this butt-"

Video cuts off abruptly.

[Cue the sheepish look.]

I might have found some trouble on several of our stops but no one has attacked us while I've been here.

[But it must be a possibility. Why else would the ships have armories? And Kitty and Vision, who have both been here far longer than she has, wouldn't have spent so much time working on that massive cannon without a good reason.]

[Far from scolding, Steve smiles at her look. He still remembers the look of horror and self-hatred after the accident with Rumlow. This isn't that. And Wanda being able to use her powers comfortably and get herself in and out of trouble actually makes him pretty glad.

As does the information that no one has attacked them. Yet.]

I'm security so I assume something is going to come around sooner or later. Otherwise what would be the point?

[He frowns again and looks at the small room around him]

What is the point, here?

There must be some reason our ship has a cannon now.

[How to answer that? Hmmmm...]

I think it is easier to answer in person.

[Not a great omen. Steve nods all the same]

Sure. Of course. You're welcome over anytime you want, Wanda.

I can make dinner if you want?

[She'd feel bad invading another ship's kitchen, but she'd feel worse making Steve try to parse knowledge from the implant to drive a shuttle so soon.]

[Steve smiles a bit woefully]

I'll help you. The options here are pretty limited, but I grew up in The Great Depression. We got creative.

[She laughs.]

And if everything goes wrong, the Twin Roses has a doughnut maker.

[Steve laughs too]

Sounds like that's the place to be, then. We'll go for dessert when I know how to fly...

It's going to feel strange the first time you try but you do. The Atroma implant gives us what we need to live here and do our jobs. I don't actually know how to use all of this equipment.

But I think this is enough for your first day. We can have doughnuts another time.

[Steve looks down at his hands like he doesn't know them. If he thinks about flying there's a few things that come immediately to mind. He could do it. God. He could do it.

Yeah. This is more than enough for his first day]

Then you have to come visit me.

[She grins.]

I'm going to get some things together and I'll come over closer to dinnertime.

I'll meet you on the bridge. I'll also give you a hand cooking. Super soldier metabolism.

[He grins back]

[He can't possibly be worse than Pietro, but Wanda doesn't voice the thought. She's getting better, but there are still plenty of days where it's painful to talk about him.]

[Hope you're ready for a hug later, Steve, because as soon as her shuttle lands on the Bishop she's coming for you.]

[He's coming for her, first!

Steve pulls Wanda into a hug as soon as he sees her walking aboard, grinning.]

Hey. How was the trip? [He eyes the shuttle skeptically] You look good! I'm...really glad to see that.

[seeingscarlet]

Not bad. You get used to flying the shuttles.

[She looks tired but otherwise all right, and 'tired' isn't exactly new - Wanda and sleep have never been friends. Still, even though things aren't super-great right now, she's happy to see him.]

I brought some things for us to try. I wasn't sure what your kitchen would have.

[Steve has no idea what's in his kitchen either and his lost expression probably shows it. He looked around in there a little but not enough to be an expert. He barely knows the whole crew yet. ]

Hey. If it's edible I'm sure I'll love it. Today I've had some tasteless gel and a pudding cup that tasted like...gel pretending to be pudding. It...is an experience.
