[Accidental video post]

[There's a bunch of noise and static before people see a cat paw clawing at the screen and a curious meow coming from it. Eventually the screen becomes less blurry as they see an up close view of an orange tabby kitten trying to chew the top corner of the data pad.

There's some noise in the background of someone taking apart a heavy metal piece. That quickly stops and there's some clanking as tools are placed down and a wary sigh follows.]

Millicent! What did I say about leaving that alone?! You have your own toys to play with.

[The feed is abruptly turned off as a gloved hand picks up the orange tabby and pockets the device.]

[Steve loves animals. Even with how lost and confused he still is with his sudden arrival, the video of a cat makes him grin.

Steve means to text but hits video instead. His surprised face fills the screen for a second before he laughs it off]

Sorry, sir. I meant to ask about us having animals on board. That cat is swell. Bet she hates the warm milk though.

[He merely waves off the apology believing it wasn't necessary. The kitten can be seen peering over Hux's shoulder having escaped Hux's hold of her.]

It would seem that we are allowed to. Our Captain has an animal companion as well that wanders freely around the ship. I'm aware that people from the other ships have ones too.

[Steve sees the cat and smiles wide at the curious thing.]

I'm not sure what the Captain has but that cat sure is adorable. Back when I was a kid, there were all sorts of stray cats in the alleys at home. I woulda kept one if I wasn't allergic.

Do you have food for her?

Yes, I believe I have the correct food for her? It's some kind of dry pebble like food.

You are more then welcome to stop by and see her if you wish...only would it hurt you with you being allergic?

No, no. I actually used to be pretty sick. It's a long story, but I'm all better now. Better than 'better', in fact.

First truth about cats, pal: you can't 'proof' anything from them. Just try to give them approved things to scratch and watch anything breakable you have near edges.

Also know they're gonna want food. A lot. Especially when they already have food.

[Steve might not have been able to own cats but the apartments around him loved the strays. A few doctor visits might have come from the visits he had where he learned these tips]
