+1 new business
Who: Mikleo / OTA (featuring Sorey)
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Iskaulit, Huntress
When: Today!
[The comm clicks on to an active video stream, where a mostly-empty Iskaulit room has some sparse decor- a long table, a couple of chairs, some sort of design board, and a... mannequin? A very crude-looking one, anyway.
Suddenly a hefty-looking box - some might recognize the familiar appearance of a sponsor drop - floats into view, is plopped down on the floor, and opened. Long swatches of fabric are pulled out and draped over the edges, some soft and beautiful, others rather silly looking. Once it seems as if enough of the fabrics are on display, someone huffs quietly.]
Apparently someone thinks I ought to be sewing more- or, more likely, they want us all looking presentable. Much as I don't like indulging our audience, we all know how dull time between planets can get, and I've been thinking about this for a while anyway, so... I guess you can call this my unofficial sewing shop? At least, I'm open to taking project commissions. It doesn't have a name or anything... oh, this is Mikleo, for those who don't know. I don't show up on camera, sorry.
Let's see, examples of my work... ah, Sorey, here-
[There's a bit of shuffling and quiet voices, and Sorey is prodded into view, clad in an intricately embroidered tunic. He waves awkwardly.]
This is a replica of one he used to have at home, so if you need a redesign or modification of an existing piece, I can do that. And hang on-
[Sorey is dragged off. More shuffling about, and a moment later he's back wearing something a little less fantasy. This is repeated a couple of times to showcase differing style and skill level, until at last his poor model is released from duty.]
You get the idea. Anyway, if you want to make an order, I'll be over on the Iskaulit for a while, or we can hash things out with the communicator until we're ready to take measurements. For pricing...
...I have no idea how to even decide that. At least the cost of materials, I suppose.
[how do i capitalism]
( action; )
[True to his word, Mikleo will be hanging out in his new Iskaulit room, decorating it and organizing the mess of fabrics he's had dumped upon him. Come visit! And for those who don't know him, Mikleo is a spirit so check out his resonance permissions, eyyy. If you can't see or hear him, be sure to bring your communicator!
Later, Mikleo will be back on the Huntress, spending some time in the lounge or in his room as he sketches out some designs for new projects or gets some sewing done on current ones.]

[What, like his design board?]
I don't have anything fancy... everything I do is sewn by hand. But if you need supplies, I'll see what I can do.
If you have any suggestions on how to go about determining a fee for this kind of thing, I'd welcome that. Outside of my time living here, I don't have that much experience with money.
Re: [Video]
Perhaps I'm asking too much then, but I also procured some leather from the last planet we were on.
And I can definitely write you up a business plan but I will probably send you a long list of questions in order to figure out the costs and time it takes?
You don't have experience in money? I'm curious what your world is like then?
no subject
Leather is more Sorey's specialty, but I have some experience with it. I can see about dragging him back in to help.
[Like he'd refuse.]
I don't think I'd need anything too detailed, business-wise. This is probably going to be a very casual thing... I would appreciate the help, however. My experience with money is limited, but I promise I'm not clueless! I just grew up in a small village where money wasn't necessary to survive.
no subject
The leather I can work with, even if it's by hand. It will simply take me longer.
And I grew up in a world where money is sometimes the most important thing, even when it shouldn't be. But I understand, I will draft up something simple.
I can find you on the Iskaulit? You said you don't show up on camera but I should be able to see you in person correct?
no subject
You... also might not be able to see or hear me in person. It's hard to know ahead of time, and over the network it's impossible to tell for sure. Bring your communicator with you, and we'll see how it goes, maybe?
no subject
You know what, I'm going to come to find you now because this now has me curious.
[Tim will disconnect from the network and find his way over. He's only going to know he's found the right room when he spots the material that has been spread about for display and future use.]
Hello? Are you still here?
no subject
...Hello? I'm right here.
[And then, when he gets no response, he sighs and lifts the sheet of fabric, flapping it dramatically in the air. He can at least make his presence known to the poor guy.]
no subject
I really can't see or hear anything from you. That's interesting.
[He pulls out his communicator and connects with Mikleo]
I'm presuming this will work though, for at least vocals.
no subject
[Mikleo tucks the fabric over his arm, so there's at least a frame of reference for where he's standing, and turns the volume down on his communicator. He's still going to hear a weird echo of his own voice coming from Tim's, but at least Tim won't be echoing in his when he's standing right there.]
Red Robin, you said? Nice to meet you, more or less.
[He lifts his hand in a wave, the cloth shifting in a vague hand-shape.]
no subject
Robin is fine and it's nice to meet you too Mikleo, in a sense.
I have a real urge to give a sock, googly eyes so you can use it as a puppet. Or cut holes out of a bed sheet for you to wear like a ghost.
no subject
[He nods, though the puppet comment makes him huff quietly and lower his arm.]
I'm not here to look ridiculous for you! It isn't my fault that you can't see me.
no subject
I'm sorry, I didn't say it was your fault. It is simply a ridiculous situation. I didn't mean to offend.
no subject
[Well, maybe a little, but the apology has him somewhat mollified.]
You don't seem all that bothered by all this, though. I take it you're used to strange things happening?
no subject
I am however also very curious. When you said you didn't turn up the communicators I had presumed some sort of vampire-like situation but I can't see or hear you at all. A ghost is my next guess.
This is his thinky face as he stares in largely the right direction.
no subject
You're welcome to keep guessing, if you like, but I can almost guarantee that you won't get it right.
[Nobody ever does! Although Sorey is going to laugh when he hears that someone thought he might be a vampire...]

The size of the universe makes guessing difficult. Most people get it wrong even when I tell them. Humans call us "malak"- an elemental spirit, more or less.
[He's given up on using seraph at this point, since everyone and their mother just think that's an angel or whatever.]
no subject
So, you thought there might be a possibility I could see you. What criteria is there to actually perceive you? some sort of magical inclination? a second sight?

Or is it simply a case of always using the communicators?
no subject
[He shrugs, while the gesture may or may not come through clearly via the sheet.]
To be honest, it's a bit weird. I'm not used to so many people being able to see or hear me at all.
no subject
Don't you find being invisible lonely though?
no subject
[He folds the sheet up and sets it on a table, walking a few feet away, so there's no longer an indication of where he might be.]
I can sneak into places others might not be allowed, because no one tries to stop me. And it's great for ghost pranks.
[Edna would approve.]
