So it seems that not everything is as it was when we went into the calibrations. Of course we have added crew members to various ships and I would like to welcome them.

It is also regrettable that the Blameless has lost their previous captain as I have been promoted to the position. I hope though that he is well.

[For the first part after returning, Ulaz spends a great deal of time on the Blameless almost as if nothing has happened, taking over the captain's positions. But his crew will notice that at least initially, he is spending more time sitting in the dining room.

It is also likely that on the first evening, the crew and anyone who might be visiting will notice a random bottle of beer sitting in front of the door to the captain's room. It's full and unopened and just... there. If it gets removed, eventually another will appear in its place later in the evening.

The second day, the one that was there last is removed by Ulaz and another one doesn't replace it.

During this time, he can also be found on the Iskaulit as well, doing his usual training.

[The first evening, as soon as the sun has properly set and it has been given at least what he considers a decent amount of time, Ulaz heads to Biffy and Lyall's room. He pauses at the door for a moment and then knocks]

Hopefully the calibrations were not too bothersome for you.

There were a couple of things that were mildly uncomfortable but it does seem that Lyall and I were able to avoid having to worry about the full moon during that time at least.

[He's grateful for that.]

That’s good at least. The situation would have made that so much harder if you had been affected by the moon as well. Not just for you, but for everyone.

[He'd already fought Lyall one on one. He didn't want to have to manage more than one and in full change]

You've fought with Lyall already. Now imagine a wolf far stronger than him on top of having to deal with him.

[He's not bragging either. It's just a fact that he is far stronger than his husband. It's the very nature of him being an Alpha while Lyall is a Beta.]

I have, but not in full wolf form. I would not want to deal with him in wolf form. I also wouldn't want to deal with more than one in wolf form.

[Forget the fact that Biffy is stronger. He still wouldn't want to do it even if he wasn't]

I wouldn't wish for you to either. Far better that we can be contained during the full moon.

Yes, it is better. I would much prefer to have the room ready with silver. Safer for everyone that way.

Yes, that is lucky. Makes your job a bit easier. Is there anything else that I should know about that I possibly didn't know before?

Not really. Simply make sure that we remain in there and do not enter under any circumstances. I have a schedule now so I can let you know when our cycles are. Otherwise it's best to just provide us with food while we sleep and to let it pass by.

Of course. A schedule will be good so that everyone this ship knows exactly when it is supposed to happen and when you will out of commission.

Good. I look forward to seeing it. We will make sure everyone is aware of it so there are no surprises. Not that there were before, but it is better to be prepared.

It will be good to have one posted anyway. That way it will be available should we get new crew members who would be unaware of it.

Since any new crew will have to be told immediately that there are werewolves on the ship and about the protocol.

[Should they feel the need to transfer despite safety precautions in place, it was best not to surprise anyone]

We could have protocol easily written out and put on the walls by the cargo bay next to the schedule. That should be helpful.

Yes, I think that would be helpful. Easy to find and in a logical location. Another copy should be on the bridge, but outside the cargo bay would be more efficient.

[Makes it easier for someone walking by to read about the cargo bay being used for werewolves rather than knowing to come look somewhere on the bridge for it]

I will see to it that two copies are created for this then. I will also produce a digital copy to have as a backup just in case.

That would be best. Knowing what things tend to happen here.

[They are now nearing the cargo bay so they can get started with going over the contents]

[Biffy is grateful the handle at least isn't silver. Otherwise he and Lyall could never use this door. So he steps forward to open the door and hold it for Ulaz.]

[Yes, that is good. Even given their issues three days out of the month, to design it so they were completely unable to access the cargo bay for the rest of the month seemed absurd to him]

[Ulaz stepped in ahead of him, making sure to move far enough into the room so that Biffy could join him without issue]

Where should we start?

Perhaps in the smaller areas? That way we can be sure that nothing has been altered there since Lyall and I often using them during our transformations. If you give me a moment, I can change to make sure I can properly get into those areas.

[Change meaning he needs to get naked.]

That is a good. The smaller areas are more likely to hide changes.

Of course, you can certainly do that.

[And if Biffy starts to take off his jacket, Ulaz will turn his back to give Biffy that privacy]

[Clothes folded there's the brief sound of breaking bones before a chocolate wolf trots past Ulaz to go looking through all the small areas. He sniffs to make sure nothing has changed and noses at any boxes before moving onto the next.

It's good to have a wolf dandy for a First Mate apparently. Very efficient.]

[Ulaz politely kept looking elsewhere as Biffy changed into a wolf. Once he emerged from behind him in wolf form, Ulaz began to resume his examination of the cargo bay. He does agree that it is very efficient having a wolf for a First Mate. He's certainly not going to complain. He appreciates it]
