So it seems that not everything is as it was when we went into the calibrations. Of course we have added crew members to various ships and I would like to welcome them.

It is also regrettable that the Blameless has lost their previous captain as I have been promoted to the position. I hope though that he is well.

[For the first part after returning, Ulaz spends a great deal of time on the Blameless almost as if nothing has happened, taking over the captain's positions. But his crew will notice that at least initially, he is spending more time sitting in the dining room.

It is also likely that on the first evening, the crew and anyone who might be visiting will notice a random bottle of beer sitting in front of the door to the captain's room. It's full and unopened and just... there. If it gets removed, eventually another will appear in its place later in the evening.

The second day, the one that was there last is removed by Ulaz and another one doesn't replace it.

During this time, he can also be found on the Iskaulit as well, doing his usual training.

I know that my brother and father are gone. Given her age now, I will assume that my mother would be. I have no information about my sister. She could still be alive, but all I know is that her name does not appear in computer for being in the Empire's military.

If she were still alive, I would like to see her again. It has been too long since we have talked and last time we did, we parted on good terms.

Your organization does remind of a pack with the way you speak of it. It's interesting to see how certain things mirror one another sometimes. Even our long lives are similar, although yours are much longer.

It is very pack like in many aspects. Kolivan is definitely the "alpha". I would not have been "beta" as I understand it. I was too old and familiar with Kolivan to allow him to do things unquestioningly. There was another better suited for that.

Hmmmm... a Beta is not someone who supports without question. My role is to support my Alpha in all things - publicly, and to question him as much as possible - privately. But maybe even then, you might be more of a Gamma, a real foil to be challenged by.

I suppose that was more my role with Kolivan. He thought I was more a thorn in his side. Antok did more to support him.

[Lyall... chuckles.]

I guess this is what a Gamma can feel like at times, yes. But a pack wouldn't be balanced without one.

Then I suppose I'm more of a Gamma. But yes, it is a necessary position. I believe that Kolivan did take my thoughts into consideration.
