tourist mingle (visitors welcome)
Who: The Folk of the Tourist + All You Funky People
Broadcast: No
Action: The Tourist
When: March 2019
[ Welcome home everyone! The Tourist is still her tiny, lovely maze-like self. The slugs are still alive and the coffee maker is still ornery, though working, and everything looks to be in place. Though their roster has changed. Their resident Russian has taken flight to another ship, but they've gained another red head in his place and a new first mate with pointy ears. So it all works out.
Let's try and get back to business as usual shall we? ]

I have faith in you, Jim. And I always will.

Being charming is my thing, Spock.
[ But he didn't move from his position, looking at him ever so slightly, that fraction of an inch that had bothered him at first, and he had come to enjoy over time. The smell of him, always so clean and nondescript - pure. Every little bit of him brought into sharper contrast after so long away, all his senses wanting to drink the other in, to burn him into his memory even deeper. ]
If you take that, what will that leave me?

Spock takes in Jim's face and words, listening beyond them. His lip twitches up, more of a smile than he'd allow with anyone else.]
Me?

[ Sauve. It was fucking suave and charming and charged the air so much his hair stood on end. His lips parted a fraction, sucking in a breath even as his cheeks warmed. He wanted to lean in. To lean in and see what the other would do, but he refrained in case he snapped the moment and the recoil cut them both to deep. Instead he placed his hand on Spock’s chest, where a human heart might be. He knew it wasn’t so in a Vulcan, but placing it elsewhere just felt odd in the moment. ]
Well that doesn’t sound so bad at all.

[But before he can do anything else, his mind supplies something he rather wishes it hadn't.
Remy LeBeau.
Spock shifts back, trying to diffuse the tension that had so effortlessly piqued. His eyes find the floor, carefully neutral.]
I am...certain you are used to such devotion, Jim. You tend to inspire it in others; I have met a few of your friends here, already.

[ His heart skipped a beat, seeing where Spock was looking. Was it-? He hasn’t entertained the possibility, not on their ship. There were their positions to consider, of course, and how they would work together. A dangerous entanglement that he had been sure Spock would want to risk. But now the option, the prospect of it was right in front of him, with this man who knew him more intimately than anyone and - and he was pulling away. Kirk’s heart contracted and stayed that way, blue eyes flashing with confusion and a little hurt, wondering if he had misunderstood. If it had all been his imagination, spurred by to long an absence from his best friend. ]
Oh yeah? Which ones? I’m sure they already knew about you.
[ His lips twisted into a little smile. ]
I tend to brag and complain in equal measure.

He stated his deep affection for you. Though he was unsure of how to categorize your relationship.
He seems a highly appropriate choice of partner. I enjoyed our conversation.
no subject
Well, our relationship isn’t what one might call traditional. We’re not exactly monogamous. But you’re right, he does mean much to me. He’s been a great comfort here, far from friends and home.
[ He reached out, touching Spock’s hand as he said the last two words. Friends and home - two words so deeply entwined for him, Spock at the center with but a few others. ]
I’m glad you approve of him, and get along. Otherwise they might get very awkward.

Jim...
[He almost shivers at the warm, human touch to his skin. The way it lights up nerves inside him.]
I know you have been separated for a significant period of time. I do not wish for you to...complicate matters with those you care for while... emotionally compromised.
no subject
[ He opened his mouth to protest, but paused, realizing Spock was right. Less with messing things up with the others, but between them. It was possible this was merely a rush of desire born from being apart to long, a need to reconnect when he had been severed. As sure as he usually was of his own feelings, Spock had the right of it. He was emotionally compromised. Because who else could make him so? He liked his lips, but kept his hand touching Spock’s. ]
See? I’ve missed your infuritately logical council. Leaping before I look...
[ He glanced down at their hands and then back up at Spock. Spock who had not been separated so long, who seemed to at least be reacting in a similar fashion. ]
But that doesn’t mean that what I see isn’t real. Maybe we just... approach it slowly.
no subject
Now there's hardly command structure to get in the way. No Starfleet or massive dangers to account for. Spock looks at their hands and twists them so he can arrange Jim's into a proper kiss; pointer and middle finger extended and touching against Spock's.]
'Approaching it slowly' entails an easing into intimacy. You holding my hand is hardly such.
But this... This is the equivalent of a human's kiss.

[ He could name very situations in which he felt more nervous than this moment, right here, facing Spock and waiting for his answer. He wouldn't' blame the man if he gently rebuked him, if he wished to keep their relationship as friends and coworkers. He could do it. They had been doing it for years and he could keep on that way, but he would be lying if, right now, he didn't hope for more now that the opportunity to clearly presented itself. ]
We are talking about me, Spock. A kiss is rather slow.
[ A smile crept onto his face as Spock shifted their fingers, looking at the way they rested together and then back up at him. ]
This for scientific purposes, or are we counting this as our first official kiss?
no subject
[He does his not-smirk as his other hand comes up to press against Jim's jaw. The murmurs of his mind are as familiar as his own. Spock closes his eyes a moment, listening to the sound of his home away from home.
And from there, he leans forward to press their lips together in a brief, chaste kiss. Both firsts taken care of at the same time.]
no subject
His eyes widened at the chaste kiss, letting out a soft laugh after a beat. Sneaky, Spock, very sneaky. But sweet. ]
Seems like you're aware of a lot of human things.
no subject
But I am always interested in advancing it. With appropriate instructors.
[As close as Spock will come to innuendo for quite some time so lap it up, Kirk. Still, he keeps their fingers pressed together, other hand against Jim's face.]
It seems we will both have ample time.
no subject
[ He cannot help but smile, to let out a small warm laugh, a tightness in his chest lifting. Maybe these feelings were just a conflagration of to many emotions at once, and maybe not. But at the least Spock was willing to explore them with him, and he was sure that, no matter how things turned out, they would make it out the other side together.
He leaned his head into the other's touch. ]
It seems we do.
[ Hopefully. ]
Which we can start more on after I wake up. I think I'm finally ready to sleep tonight.
Wrap?
I will discuss terms with you in the morning. Until then, sleep well, Jim.
