[Kogarasumaru is sitting in the garden of the Caprine. On his shoulder rests a beautiful bird who currently happens to be asleep and burrowed into that wing hair of its owner.

The owner who smiles at the screen now.]

It would seem that we have had quite a few changes after returning to our ships. Some new arrivals and some loses as well.

[He looks to the bird and gently strokes its head.]

Sadly, Baku has departed. In her place, as captain of the Caprine, you will find myself. I am also the caretaker of the fox park and dojo here. I will be continuing my sword lessons now that we have returned. Should you require answers to questions, this father is named Kogarasumaru.

[He will nod and leave that there. Anyone living on or visiting the Caprine is welcome to come visit him.]

It seems this is not the first time that these have happened. I would imagine that it wouldn't be different. Just with additional circumstances for us left here.

She is. From what I saw recently, there is something she is meant to return to. A task she must take care of.

I wish her good luck in her task then? I'm sorry you've lost a friend though. At least she would know you'd take good care of her ship?

I will do my best. Please do not be concerned about me though. The passing of people is something I am well used to.

I suppose when you're born in war and are centuries old. I suppose that's something that you'd get used to. Still, it's a little sad.

What responsibilities do you have as Captain? Considering that the ships tend to go along their own course?

[crow_dad]

Matters of the ship will go through me. At least this is my understanding of things.

You would know better than me. I've not run a ship before, only teams of superheroes and I imagine that's vastly different.

[crow_dad]

It is a similar concept I believe. Between a team and a ship. You are still responsible for the lives of a group.

That is true but for the teams, I lead it was more, a weekend gig than a full time one. The ship is very much a 24/7 responsibility.

[crow_dad]

Oh? You were not a leader for these teams all the time?

[permanentlyexhaustedbird]

Technically yes? but we only met up on the weekends? Most of us had our weekday schedules with our mentors and school so team exercises and activities were purely on the weekend. Pending emergencies of course.

I'm sorry? Maybe I'll live long enough to run a team full time but for the moment I'm not part of any team. I passed the leadership position to Wondergirl months ago.

Would you be willing to give me sword lessons in the future? It's not my primary weapon but I doubt I would regret having the extra knowledge.

But yes. I am always willing to provide lessons.

I have some kendo training so I at least know the basics of sword work but not enough for it be truly effective. Just enough to know what's coming at me.

Then I would be happy to help you learn more to find a method that works for you. Though honestly I almost wish one of the yari were here to train you in their styles.

That would certainly be easier to start off with but as the father to them all, I still feel honoured that you're willing to teach me. Even if it'll be a long journey starting more from the beginning that if it were a yari.

Every journey worth taking is a long one. But treasured memories can be made along the way.
