The cat gives Kaname's hand a couple of delicate sniffs and then looks at her expectantly.]

Sasha. I inherited her from Kitty, who inherited her from Laura, who I never met.

We've been in the Fleet for some time now, and I've found ranks mean very little here. Insisting on them is a little silly. So please, Kaname is better.

[She moves her hand to lightly scritch Sasha under her chin.]

[Sasha closes her eyes and tilts her head back. Good human.]

[Kaname notices the cat and chuckles softly.]

I've heard the same. My only experience is with mercats, who are different enough where it doesn't help me much.

[After another few moments of allowing herself to be held and scritched, Sasha wiggles out of Pavel's arms. She retreats to Pavel's cot, turns her back to the humans, and proceeds to groom herself.

Pavel takes this as their cue to leave.]

Yes. Right now, I think he's off with Mirage on the Starduck. I hope the tour won't be too lackluster without him.
