[She notices his state right away. Going into caretaker mode, she guides him to the couch, and once he's seated, she places Q-Lulu in his lap, partly so he can't stand up again and partly to give him something else to focus on at the same time. She plants herself on the couch next to him. He's got her as a friend, not a counselor type right now.]

You know, Q-Lulu can sort of pick up on tension. [No, he probably can't. He's not the brightest out there.] Try to relax, okay?

[He didn't exactly resist, either. Keith sat down, and then... oh... mercat. He absently stroked his hand along Q-Lulu...]

Yeah... A lot's been going on.

[Calibrations hadn't been good. Keith had ended up with some pretty poor luck with the things he'd seen this time... and, on top of that, he'd lost Shiro and Pidge.]

I uh... I wanted to tell you that Shiro and Pidge are gone.

[He gently rubbed the mercat's ears, the motion bringing him a bit of comfort. He'd done this a few times with Kosmo, too.]
