[Mikleo's response is immediate: 1) he leans back into the couch as far as he can go, 2) he yelps, loudly and indignantly, 3) he swings an arm and sends a spout of water in the wolf's direction, and 4) he rolls back off the arm of the couch and completely vanishes from sight as an ethereal ripple of light passes over his body.

So, you know, that went great.]

[Keith heard the commotion from down the hall, having wondered where Kosmo had teleported off to, and now he knew.

Oh man...

Kosmo, to his credit, managed to remain relatively calm, only giving a small yelp in surprise when he got hit with the water. He started sniffing around the room, though, wondering where the other person had gone.]

Kosmo... what are you doing?

[Keith came in and put a hand on the wolf's back. Kosmo looked up at his person, twitching his ears. Keith frowned.]

Don't scare people.

[Keith also looked around, concerned. There had been someone in here. He considered it for a moment. No one else on board could teleport... at least, he didn't think so. And he only knew one person who could vanish like that.]

Sorry, Mikleo. He got away from me.

[tsunergy]

[The light in the corner shimmers, as the aquatic shield washes off like a wave of water, and Mikleo reappears.]

I... forgot he could do that. Why can he do that!?

[tempredmental]

[Keith crouched down, keeping Kosmo's attention on him once Mikleo reappeared.]

I don't know. He's a space wolf. He has different abilities than Earth wolves. It's the best answer I have. Coran called him a 'cosmic wolf'. So, maybe that's his particular breed or something.

[He shrugged.]

[Mikleo exhales a small, huffing sigh, reluctantly edging back towards his previous spot on the couch.]

Well... thank you for keeping an eye on him as much as you do, anyway.

[It's too much to expect perfection, especially when it comes to a teleporting dog.]

[Keith gave Mikleo a weak smile.]

I try. He's been reverted to a pup here, it seems, so he's a little hyper and hard to keep settled, but he'll grow out of it.

[Kosmo's ears perked up as Mikleo resettled on the couch. He was curious, but he was also very loyal to Keith, so he stayed put for now.]

Wait, he's usually bigger?

[OH LORDS HOW BIG DOES THAT THING GET]

Yeah. He's about the size of a large wolf back home.

[Keith stood up and held his hand at just about his waist... maybe a bit higher.]

His shoulder is about here.

[Mikleo's eyes get impossibly wider.]

That's as big as the hellion wolves on our world... you sure he's not a monster?

[tempredmental]

[Keith looked down at him.]

Maybe. [He shrugged.] I don't know what he is on his native world. But, I found him stranded as a pup and raised him. He's pretty much tame now.

[Keith decided not to tell Mikleo that he had trained Kosmo to fight with him in battle, using the teleporting to maneuver around enemies and all that. It was pretty handy.]

[Yeah maybe keep that bit to yourself, bud.

Mikleo glances warily between the wolf and one of the exits to the room, and then - very slowly - moves over one cushion. Clo...ser...? Don't make him regret this.]

Besides the... surprise-teleport thing.

[tempredmental]

[As Mikleo shifted, Kosmo swished his tail a little. Please come closer! Puppy wanted to meet you!]

Yeah. It was kind of a surprise when he first did it. I'm used to it now. I just need to make sure to get it under control again. He's pretty intuitive, though. As he matures, he'll calm down and react more to the situation instead of what he feels.

[Keith smiled a bit, also noticing that little maneuver.]

He won't bite, though.

[At least... not if you were friendly.]

...You realize that by you saying that, I'm going to be incredibly put out if he bites me.

[He moves another inch over, though. At the very least, he can get a good look at it.]

[Keith chuckled a little.]

Well, in all fairness, he is a puppy. So, he might nip playfully, but he won't hurt you. It's not a full on bite. But that's only if you roughhouse with him. If you're just petting him or siting with him, he won't just suddenly turn around and try to get you to play with him by nipping at you.

[Okay, he knows Keith is only giving him a fair warning, but...]

You're not exactly selling your case, here.

[He keeps his hands very carefully folded in his lap, thank you.]

[Keith just chuckled.]

He won't hurt you. Let's just put it that way.

[Still, he kept Kosmo closer to him at the moment, letting Mikleo decide how close he wanted to get.]
