[There's a white puffball asleep in Veronica's lap, and she looks a bit harried as she starts the broadcast, her hair a bit wild. She's clearly dealing with some allergies too, her eyes and nose red and slightly swollen.]

Found this little guy on the surface. He's one of those sheep things, but I think he's a baby. Anyway, I've been trying to ask around to see if any of the local farmers are missing one so I can get him back to his home, but these allergies are awful. [She sniffs and rubs at her nose.] Even with the medicine my eyes are getting all puffy.

Anyway, I would really appreciate it if someone who is immune to the surface wouldn't mind seeing if they can find where this baby Floud might have come from? I've got him with me underground for now. I'd like to try to find his owner before completely adopting him.

Veronica has been rather absent this holiday season. While she's made an appearance at the festivities, she hasn't really seemed all there, and has left early from most of them without talking much. For a girl whose life has changed so much so fast, even before the Fleet, one might think it would be easy for her to roll with the punches, but eventually, Veronica tires out, and she's hit that point.

She misses home. She's lonely. Sure, she has Lance here, but much of his time is dedicated to Keith and his team, and Veronica isn't about to take that away from him. He's happy. She isn't going to get in the way of that. While she's befriended people here, it just isn't the same, and she finds herself growing homesick and depressed.

She's spending a lot of time these days just sitting by the bay windows of the Iskaulit, looking out into the deep abyss of space. It's beautiful, and she really does love it, but...it's so cold and isolating. It makes her think of everything that she's lost, all the people who have died for a war that they were never even meant to be a part of... Veronica hugs her knees to her chest and just watches.

Hot Springs

[Veronica isn't terribly fond of this cold weather. She's from Cuba, after all, and is more used to sun and sand and things being perhaps too hot. The cold? She's not great at dealing with that.

And it's not doing her old leg wound from early Galra occupation any favors. Having heard about the hot springs, however, she is determined to check them out and bathe to her heart's content. The hike is a bit tedious, and she's limping slightly by the time the steaming luminescent water comes into view. With a pleased sigh and no shame, she strips down to her undergarments and hops right in. It feels great, nice and toasty warm, and she leans back against the edge of the water, eyes closing in contentment.]

Much better.


Shopping

[It's coming up on Christmas, which means presents. Veronica doesn't know a whole lot of people here at the fleet, but she's at least determined to get Lance something nice. She happily peruses every shop and kiosk she can find, only pausing to warm up with a cup of hot berry tea. She can be found in just about any shop. If she's not actively shopping, she's browsing and exploring all these strange new places.]


Sorta Hockey

[How could she visit a new planet and not go to their sports games?! Veronica is excitedly cheering along with the rest of the crowd, even though she doesn't quite understand the rules. Nor is she cheering for any particular team. She's trying to work out what exactly the small angry person does, but the crowd seems to love it, and she's all for that team spirit. Even if she's...a little bit lost about the game itself. Naturally, she's dressed warmly, and is rarely seen without a cup of steaming hot beverage to keep herself warm and toasty.]

[Veronica wakes with a distinct feeling of wrongness. The camera zooms in as blue eyes open, a frown already on her face. She sits up slowly, the covers falling off and pooling at her hips to reveal she's in standard Garrison uniform, the typical attire of an officer. Rubbing at her face, she looks to the side to spot her glasses and quickly jams them on.

Her frown deepens.] Where...am I...?

[Veronica slides out of bed, to find her shoes tucked neatly beside the bed. Frowning at them, she goes barefoot for now, instead running down the hallway and feeling cold metal under her feet.]

Hello? Is anyone there?

Action - Iskaulit & Blue Fish
[Veronica can be found wandering the Iskaulit and the S.S. Blue Fish restlessly. She's a hot mess of emotions, unsure how to deal with everything that is going on right now, and her first priority is just to become familiar with her surroundings. Most everything she would be interested in is on the Iskaulit, it seems, so this is where she starts.

She'll most often be pacing, but if you're lucky, you might catch her frowning and poking at her communicator, trying to make it function in some way like what she's used to. She wants more information, maybe this can help.]
