( for N-Z characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. N-Z names comment here, and A-M names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

Pavel Chekov // Star Trek AOS
It is shifting and inconsistent. The walls change from a warm beige to a sterile white, and occasionally fade away entirely. There are no windows and no visible ceiling. A low, mechanical hum reverberates throughout and, even though all is still, there is a pervasive sense of busy-ness.
Its most prominent feature is a sleek console that faces a massive, empty viewscreen. The lefthand side of the console appears to be powered off. On the right, numbers and blocky letters scroll across a small screen; the larger display shows a starmap rendered on a three-dimensional coordinate system.
To the right of the console is a large bookshelf. The contents of the shelf are an odd mix of traditional paper books and thin, transparent rectangles with spines that glow a faint blue.
To the left is a narrow, neatly-made bed with white sheets and a white, blue, and red blanket spread across the foot. A PADD, a communicator, and an insignia badge sit on the pillow in a tidy group.
And, of course, Pavel Chekov is there. The Russian is dressed in civilian attire and standing in front of a glowing, gently-curved bank of screens. He looks up from the tablet-like device in his hands, apparently surprised to find that company has arrived.]
Ah, this again.

Pavel, you've done this before?
no subject
Maybe not this specifically, but there have been a number of occasions when I was in someone else's dreams or they were in mine.

So she goes over to the console, looking at who knows what until her eyes land on the star map.]
Now here's something that's familiar.

She turns, perhaps slightly self-conscious that her intrusion here hasn't gone unnoticed.]
"Again"?
no subject
Yes. All of these prisons seem to have a version of this--a way for us to see things that, perhaps, no one wants to share.
[He doesn't seem terribly bothered by the involuntary sharing.]
You can touch it, if you like. If you don't, then I have no idea how long you will be here.
no subject
That's a bit too intrusive, if you ask me.
[But there's nothing she can do about this, and naturally Atroma didn't ask her or anyone.]
You truly don't mind if I touch it?

He also understands why the walls keep changing, vanishing and reappearing at will. Nothing constant, nothing steady or permanent. The realization makes his heart sink in his chest.
Though Chekov is there, he doesn't immediately approach him. Instead he makes his way to the shelves, running his hands along the items, and pulling out one of the paper books, he opens it and runs his fingers through the pages. ]
Used to visitors, already?
no subject
"If ever you should have need of my life, come and take it."
"My thoughts about human happiness, for some peculiar reason, had always been tinged with a certain sadness."
"One hundred years from now, the people who come after us, for whom our lives are showing the way--will they think of us kindly? Will they remember us with a kind word?"]
Used to, no. More resigned to the fact that, periodically, things like this happen.
no subject
He takes the book with him as he approaches Chekov, closing it for the moment so he can focus his attention on the man. ]
Did these... dreams happen before? To you? How periodically?

Once he feels more comfortable in his place here, more willing to look and move around, he glanced over towards the room's owner.] Bonjour mon ami, keepin' yaself busy it seems.
no subject
[He smiles and tucks the tablet under one arm. It's only polite to fully engage with company.]
I would invite you to make yourself comfortable, but this is not the most comfortable of places.
no subject
Does look like a good set up for ya though. [Enough stuff to keep him busy and entertained, but certainly a space for one with that single bed and nothing else around.]

[He makes a slow circle, taking in the area, but especially the console and viewscreen.]
Wow. Super techy.
no subject
Techy? Maybe a little.
You remember the last time?

[He nods.]

Felix takes in the...fluidity of the room for a few long seconds before Pavel notices him and speaks up.]
...Hey. Seems like it.
[....Is that a starmap....He's very curious and starts sort of gravitating towards it, even while he's got his attention on Pavel.]
Is there anything I shouldn't be touching?
no subject
Thank you for asking, but I'm not certain what is where. [He glances at the wall of screens.] For the most part, I mean.
[Anyway. He moves over to the console and gives it a fond pat.] This was my place on the bridge.
no subject
[He'd seen the rest of the bridge in Kirk's head last time this whole dance was performed.
...Also Felix definitely notices the way that Pavel glances at one particular spot. He's not going to prod, though.
Getting closer to the map, his gaze flickers across it's surface....looking to see specifically if Earth is there.]

If you would like to leave and then walk back in, I'll see what I can do.
[He is, for all intents and purposes, very much himself here. Perhaps that will change, but for the moment, Kitty's stuck with a relatively normal Chekov. A relatively normal Chekov who isn't terribly surprised to see her.]
