As of late, most of them are fighters or battle frigates. Or at least ships that can double as fighters.

[Not every fighter in the Rebel fleet was actually intended as a fighter, after all. That hasn't stopped them from being used that way, of course.]

They used to be for diplomatic purposes, or just for personal travel.

[There's no need to ask why ships aren't being used for leisure and diplomacy anymore, not if they've been re-purposed as fighters or frigates.]

I'm sorry that those are the ships that are needed... and for prying.

[oratorical]

You don't have to apologize for asking. If anything, I've pried more than you have.

[After all, she was the one who saw his personal memories. None of that happened with her memories, here anyway.]

Perhaps instead of prying, you could offer the information yourself. It seems more fair that way.

[And uncomfortable though it might seem, the console seat is where Leia chooses to sit down.]

[He sits on the small bed, which might be even less comfortable than the chair at the console.]

Although I'm finding it difficult to think of anything that I would choose to share.

You could talk more about where you're from. Which planet, and what part of it were you from, before all of this?

[candothat]

I'm from Russia, which is on Earth and in the Sol System. A disproportionate number of people here are from there as well--Earth, I mean, not Russia.

But you're from somewhere different, correct? A galaxy without Earth.

[oratorical]

That's right. No Earth, no Russia. It makes me feel at a disadvantage, with how much I don't know about a planet so many people on board are from.

[Not a feeling she's used to, with her education on planets and customs in her galaxy being as extensive as it was. A requirement for a future queen of a core planet.]

Is Earth home to only humans?

[candothat]

This is understandable. I'm not the most knowledgeable about all Earth-related things, but if you ever have questions about it, maybe I can help?

[She would, presumably, be given a take on Earth that unfairly attributes most accomplishments to Russia, but he would try!]

Originally, yes, but others have made Earth home in the most recent century. Mostly only in the larger cities. Some places are less tied to the Federation and the interstellar community, and some climates aren't very appealing to non-Humans.

[oratorical]

A bit different from what I'm used to.

[Aside from just the knowing where humans originated part. That's something lost to the ages in Star Wars history, mostly.]

On nearly any planet, you'll find a mix of humans and non-humans in any city. The exception being more extreme environments that some beings can barely adapt to even with life support tools.

[candothat]

And there are no tensions between the different sentient species that live together? [He sounds more hopeful than skeptical.]

[oratorical]

Tensions caused by differences between species? It happens, of course, but rarely. Usually tensions between groups are caused through less species-biased problems.
