( for A-M characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

What's more sharply defined are objects, mostly arranged on and around the dresser:
A baseball cap, red with a tan brim, beaten and dirty
A walkie-talkie next to it, covered in a fine layer of dust
A pair of binoculars, with a neck strap
A guitar, leaning against the side of the dresser
An orange backpack with a riot helmet strapped on top, sitting on the floor
A green balloon, uninflated
A pocket watch, prominently centered on the dresser
Glenn is sitting on the edge of the bed, facing a window. When you walk into the room, he looks up at you for a moment, silently, and then turns back to gaze out the window once more. ]
((ooc: you're kind of in the walking dead here, so there could be violence and gore and general misery... but not necessarily. all kind of depends on how things go and what you poke and do from there. if you want to arrange anything specific just pm or hit me up on plurk

Pavel takes a quick look around the room (keeping his hands to himself for now) before approaching Glenn. He glances out the window as well, trying to see whatever the room's owner is seeing.]
What is out there?
no subject
Alexandria.
[ He looks back toward the window, still speaking - ]
It was our home. The last one.
no subject
[Actually, it's probably impolite to dig.]
It looks quiet. [Possibly not in a good way.]
no subject
[ It is. It's also the last one he'll have, but... well. That's a whole other question that a trail-off thankfully isn't really asking. ]
It's not usually this quiet. It seems like everyone's gone...
no subject
I'm sorry for intruding, if you were enjoying the quiet.
[The guitar catches his attention. Without really thinking about it, he touches its strings.]
no subject
[ He turns to look at Pavel, but in the same moment, as Pavel's fingers touch the strings of the guitar, the room - and Glenn - fade away. It gradually shifts to a different room, the warm, neatly appointed living room of a farmhouse with a fireplace. The gathering taking place there, however, is tense - at best. A few familiar faces, a bit less touched by time and the world, may be spotted among the gathered. Questions are stirring among them, and Glenn speaks up- ]
So how do we do this? Just take a vote?
[ A woman with a blonde ponytail chimes in then, ] Does it have to be unanimous?
[A brunette woman, leaning by the corner, ] How about majority rules?
[ And then, a man with a southern drawl, who seems to have some sense of authority speaks up, ] Well, let's just see where everybody stands and we can talk through the options.
[ Chekov's presence here either hasn't been noticed or is accepted - should he speak up, the room will fall silent and still, as if paused. Glenn, however, even as his younger self here, will notice. ]

[Although Pavel has seen enough memories play to out to know that, as a rule, he can't participate, he's compelled to ask anyway. He directs his question at Glenn.]

The man sitting by the window glances over but then turns away. Whether because he's absorbed in his memories or because he doesn't want anybody in here, Sorey doesn't know. This isn't his first rodeo but he knows how invasive this can be, and though he knows he'll have to touch one of those things over there to get out he'd still like to try and ask permission first.]
...is this your first time doing this?
no subject
Doing what?
[ Like he should just exist in a vague room with no apparent exit. ]
no subject
Sorey is just going to very carefully peer at the objects then, since he'll probably have to invade this guy's privacy to give him back his privacy. Ugh, Atroma.]
no subject
[ He gives a small smile, actually getting up from his seat. ]
Well, hey, welcome to Alexandria. I'm Glenn.
no subject
Step one is always the same though. Identify threats. It's just the kind of thing her super normal childhood instilled in her. Still, the only other person with her seems to be fairly unthreatening at the moment. She relaxes slightly.]
Glenn?
no subject
Yeah-- hi. Are you new here?
no subject
no subject
Well, welcome to Alexandria.
[ He gives a little smile, then glances back toward the window. ]
I was just... watching. It's quiet today.
[ In fact, there are no other signs of life, but hey. This is all seemingly normal to him. ]
no subject
Watching for the... [They don't call them zombies.] the dead ones? [She's not sure that's it, but it's not zombies.]
no subject
No -- there are people on watch, walls to keep them out.
Inside of them, we have lives here. Community. A future.
[ Well, some people do. Not so much him. Details. ]
no subject
Futures are pretty dangerous things you know? You start hoping for things and then planning for things and making things happen. And then life has other ideas. Or death. [Pretty applicable in both their cases.]

no subject
Well, [ he says, with a bit of a sigh. ] Where's this?
no subject
Uh... Alexandria?
[ And more as honest if puzzled inquiry than anything as accusatory as the words could potentially be - ]
Where'd you come from?
no subject
[ The shortest answer: the Marsiva. The longest: Corellia. Already, he's got the feeling neither is gonna be much good. ]
Nowhere you ever heard of, probably.
no subject
[ Something like a very light wry amusement is in that, as he glances back to the window, beyond the wall that itself is beyond the soft focus. Just for a moment ]
Were you with a community? Or on the road?
no subject
Han's gonna guess that means this is a place where people don't leave their planet. Which he's inferred usually means Earth, wherever the hell that is. ]
I travel a lot, [ he affirms. Hey, it's not a lie. ] Kinda like it better that way.
no subject
But he nods - the road wasn't good for his people, but surely there are people making it work. ]
Have you found much out there?
