This is General Grievous, now in charge of Security aboard the Goldstone.

[Or so this is the way he's thinking of it, what with the other security officers now promoted to Captain and First Mate.]

It is important that I speak with any Communications staff, from any other Fleet ships, as we are lacking our own. More in particular, if you have technical skills with this world's technology.

It is cryptic to not reveal all pertinent information to the entire Fleet?

Somehow that doesn't change the fact that I need to know details. Probably a weird coincidence but it's true.

It is not a critical secret. The Goldstone needs visual surveillance and so we have need of somebody with this ability to aid in the creation of this, for our protection.

Well I can't exactly build something. You got someone in mind for that?

I was told by our Captain that we needed both an Engineer and a Communications officer, so you would be working with our Engineer. Of course I will oversee to make sure that it is up to our Security standards.

Oh so your guy already knows about this?

I have not yet had a chance to speak with him. It will be discussed when I find the correct Communications officer for this mission.

I mean, I can help. But you're probably gonna want to let the guy know and then contact me. I can't do much otherwise.

Wait. When did that become a question? I thought you needed a Communications Officer for this job you need done.

Not all of you may be suitable.

I'm pretty sure all of us are. That's what our augments are for in case you missed the memo.

There are questions of suitability beyond simply what you have been programmed to do.

What was your occupation before you were brought to the fleet? What were your goals?

How shocking since I have the augment for that. What do you have against people with the augments you want actually using them for the purpose they're intended? It's like you want someone to just have the augment then refuse to do anything with them until you need them to.

Security is your job, pal. Mine is Communications. I know how to do it just like any other officer with my augment.
