( how the dinosaurs died )
Who: Loki + You
Broadcast: Video
Action: Planetside
When: Right here, right now
[ the feed turns on, though it seems to start with a burst of static and a blurry screen before it finally seems to straighten itself out. though the scene you might be seeing seems a little . . . hard to take in. mostly because it looks like everything has been frozen. plants, grass and giant dinosaurs like T-Rexs that were in mid-lunge to bite on . . . a huddled lump who has a quilt over their head and cocooned deep within the covers. And also happens to be sneezing a lot. ]
This — [ loki sneezes, looking pale, harried and a little . . . blue. ] — Is the worst. Why is everything so — [ another loud sneeze. ] — uncomfortable?! And how do you make it stop?!

He didn't forget anything. Thor has to fight monsters and save worlds. I'm already dead. He cannot linger for me.

Okay, but it might not stick. So if and when you come back, you better put your foot down and demand some attention. Plus? You're both here now.

[ loki also doesn't want to stay, but his feelings are more complicated. ]

I am not taking what I have here for granted, but I will not linger and pretend everything is fine.

[Although it is the twins' general go-to on conflict avoidance, most times.]
I just hate wasted opportunity.

I'm ready for it to be over.

I was before. Many times.

Is that necessary.
no subject
[Well, maybe.]
I can't set anything on fire in here. Gotta let the steam out somehow.

[ loki shrugs. ]
I am not resigned, I am merely . . . worn out a little. I would still choose life but I rather not get my hopes up.

[Because there's a nice big list of grievances she could give this place, sure, and there's plenty to hate. But there are certain benefits to be found, if you can figure out a way to wrestle the good out of the bad. They're alive here- both of them.
That has to count for something.]

I just want to go home.

That's better than the alternative, for sure, and Lup's tense posture starts to relax.]
Well, shit. Don't worry, then- we'll get you there.
[She eases back on the throttle, gently veering the shuttle towards the landing area of the First Breath.]
One way or another, we'll find our way back to where we belong. For real, I mean.
[And they don't belong in a grave, so fuck that noise.]
no subject
Perhaps we will.
no subject
[But she'll let him be skeptical for now, rather than argue further. He's had a rough day already. The shuttle is parked a moment later, and she kicks her chair around.]
Wanna rest up in your room? Maybe this'll all wear off.
no subject
It should pass now that we've left.
no subject
Huh... well, I'll have to take your word for it. But if that's the case, then that's good. [A beat, and then-] Are you good?
no subject
Of course. This is just . . . uncomfortable. Nothing more.
