[With help from other Fleeters, Minako had coordinated the lecture hall being decorated into an auditorium for their auction. It was done up somewhat cheesy, like a 90's high school prom, with hearts and cute things... streamers, balloons... anything she could find on the planet below to make it work.

She also managed to order a buffet of hors d'oeuvres and finger foods (nothing super fancy) for people to snack on, and there were drinks. There wasn't specifically punch, but there wasn't anything alcoholic being supplied, so that would have to be brought in by others. She's a minor!

Before the auction itself starts, but once everyone's there, Minako steps up on the stage to address everyone.]

I want to thank everyone for participating tonight. It's a great showing of people and I know we'll be able to use the supplies we'll be getting during the next drift. I hope everyone has a good time tonight, and I definitely hope you all have wonderful dates.

Now... let the auction begin!

[She'd step to the side, and then introduce each person as they came out for their bidding.

Afterwards, she thanked everyone again, wished them all luck on their dates, and told them to enjoy the rest of the night!]

{OOC: Each of the characters being sold has a top level for the bidding portion. The winners that were rolled are in the subjects. Feel free to make your own top levels like a typical mingle if you want to do more than just the bidding. Also, you can go hog-wild bidding in each of the individual top levels, but the winners have already been picked for some of them. Those who didn't get an RNG pairing (sorry, we had less buyers than people sold) are open to having fun with bidding and you can determine who wins. Just because you're not the winner of a person doesn't mean you can't play out a bidding war if you want to! Have fun!}

Bah. Useless. [He waves a hand in front of his face as he goes to pick up part of that destroyed pen.] Just more spoiled rich people showing off and letting people know that they're better than others just because they got money.

[Tim can't remember if Manji knows that he's one of those spoiled rich people or not. Well not here obviously, he actually thinks that considering the way Manji seems to live that he would have accumulated quite a bit of the money given to them]

You're not wrong but in this case and for a lot of those kinds of events, the money is being put to a good cause at the very least.

Then why not give the money over freely? Why buy a slave for the night?

This is supposed to just be a fun reason to throw money at a cause and what you get out of it is likely a meal with some company.

Buying someone who didn't want to be bought to force them to do things they don't want to do? What else would you call that?

[Tim sighs] Okay it does sound awful but it's just for fun. No one was actually going to force you to do anything you didn't want to do.

[Manji holds out his hand as if to say SEE!] And I'm sure that's what slave owners say as well. It's all "just for fun". [Okay. He's made his point and he doesn't actually think this is just like slavery, but he's angry her got signed up without being asked so he's going to do everything to suck the fun out of this.]

I'm pretty sure slave owners very said it was just for fun. Their usual justifications involve dehumanising the other party so that they can say it's the equivalent of owning a dog or horse.

Look if you're so angry about this, go talk to the girl who organised this?

Maybe I will! [He goes off and does so! He'll go give her a piece of his mind and forget to bid above Tim. Seeing as no one else wants someone as grumpy as Manji? Congrats Tim! You won yourself a date!

Manji will come find Tim when the auction is over.] So. Where's my free grub? [Apparently he's over the whole slavery thing. It's almost like he didn't even care that much to begin with.]

[Tim will look up from where he's working on sharpening a new Robin throwing disc and smirk]

I'm sorry. I donated to a charity but I don't buy into slavery. I've given my money over and you are welcome to do as you please.

[Still Tim starts to pack up his space. Looma isn't here anymore to reinforce that rule but he packs everything up into its original place, before washing his hands carefully. Seeing if Manji makes a comment but eventually, everything is cleaned up and ready]

Replaced by hunger and the fact that I don't have to pay to finish it. [Manji isn't in a hurry and is happy to patiently wait for Robin to finish cleaning up.]

[Tim will chuckle but finally he's ready and heading for the door]

Sounds like you, alright where would you like to go?

Some place with meat. Burgers? Steak? Roast? I don't really give a shit. And it don't need to be expensive either. [He doesn't want to bankrupt Tim, but he's going to enjoy dinner at least.]

It's not like I really have a lot of chances to spend the cash? and burgers sound amazing. Let's wander until we find something to our liking then.

[Tim and Manji will leave the Iskaulit and head towards where the planet offers up a collection of eateries]

So I think it would be redundant to ask if you kiss on the first date since that's how we met. [He teases]

If you try to kiss me you're going to find the pointy end of my sword in your gut. [No he wouldn't. Tim can probably guess by now that Manji is more talk than he is action when it comes to threats.]

[Tim just rolls his eyes at the empty threat. He's not worried at this point and is aware that Manji is just posturing]

Such an overreaction. It's not like I'm expecting tongue. It's only the first date after all.

[Tim laughs at his own joke]

Good. Because if you expected tongue I'd be happy to cut your own off and give it to you. [He retorts back with a chuckle.]

[Tim clutches at this chest in mock dismay] Such violence! and on our first date. I don't know if you'll be getting another mister!

That's fine with me. You couldn't handle a second round with me anyway. [Yeah, he knows how that sounds and he doesn't care.]

Considering your breath I'm surprised I'm surviving the first round, to be honest.

Come on, let's eat here. [Tim will lead Manji into a burger place and grab them some menus]

[Manji throws his head back and laughs.] Ask me nicely and maybe I'll lift my arms up later to give you a whiff of that too.

[He knows he can stink and he does not care.

He takes the menu and looks it over for a bit.] Bacon? They put bacon on these meat patty things? [Manji has been learning he really likes hamburgers.] Meat on meat? That seems excessive in the right kind of way.

[Tim actually makes a disgusted face at that suggestion and steps away from Manji just in case he does lift his arms] oh ew.

They do meat on meat for a lot of things and bacon is a usual staple for burgers, that and cheese. You should try and a surf and turf sometime. It's a steak with shrimp on it.

And trust me you haven't seen excessive until you've seen a burger that's bigger than your head.

Bacon is an expensive luxury item for me back home. [He snickers.] Showing me all the fancy places ain't-cha?

And why the fuck would someone want a burger that's bigger than their head!? [His picturing in both width and height.]
