I have some things I'm looking to send to good homes. There's a lot of men's clothing, some sewing materials, shaving supplies, and a few odds and ends. It's probably time they go to someone who can make use of them. [For anyone whose known her long enough this description might make it clear enough these are Winn's things.] It's been over two years. [She knows exactly how many days over—twenty.] That's probably long enough to hold on to them. [And maybe it will make room for new things.] I'll probably donate them at the next planet if no one is interested, but feel free to stop by the Twin Roses if you want to take a look.

Or stop by the Malum during my shift tonight and we'll pour one out to the people we're still missing. I mean, I'll charge you for the pour, so feel free to use your mouth for it. [She gives the screen a little smile.]

...and be with Winn? [He offers with a soft smile.] Because I think that sounds really nice.

Yeah, that guy. [She says it softly, grateful for his kindness and the reassuring smile and words as much as she feels guilty about them. Vash deserves someone to love him fully and she always feels like she's doing it with one hand tied behind her back. It's your hands that hold the love, right?]

You know this... This getting rid of his stuff and making more room isn't just to try and move on. Something I'm clearly very good at. [Bah dum ching!] It was to make more room for your stuff. [Should she be using past tense?]

Yeah? [He had wondered just a little.] Are you really okay with seeing my stuff in here? [Where Whinn's stuff use to be.] Although, good news, I don't own very much so even if you're sure you want to see my stuff in here you don't need to get rid of very much to make room.

In fact you could probably keep it all if you really wanted to. I don't mind and I'm sure I can figure out where my stuff fits with all the stuff you have.

[She takes his flesh hand in hers and gives it a squeeze.] I better be okay with if I'm asking you to move in with me.

And I am.

[He sits up a bit straighter.] You mean more than just in the evenings? [Most of the time it was just so they didn't have to sleep on their own. At times maybe a bit more.] Are you sure that's what you want? [It still felt a little bit like encroaching.]

I think so, but only if you want it too. It's a big step even if we're already on the same ship and spending the nights in each other's rooms. And we can merge the rooms so it should be even bigger. You should keep all your stuff.

[It comes out in a bit of a rush and then she tilts her head, looking at him, suddenly nervous.] What do you think?

I think this was my room to begin with. [He winks playfully. Remembering how he had gracefully given up the room so she can Winn could have the bigger space. Back when their ships first merged. There had been one captain's room and two captains.] So it's probably about time that I steal it back.

Hey, it was never your room. I was always the captainier captain and you'd given up yours on the Three Twins to Anders and Hawke. [Okay, that is not the point, Kitty. He's saying yes.] So, yes? You're moving in? You want to be stuck with me?

For as long as I can be. [He still doesn't really know what he wants to do. He needs to go home, but he so badly doesn't want to.] Being stuck with you? Best thing that has ever happened to me.

[She can't help but to smile at that and if her looks closely, he'll see her blush at it too.]

So, we move in and merge quarters?

You know, assuming this doesn't all end and we end up going home or something. [She says it like a joke. It feels like a joke. Planning for here and now is what still feels real to her.]

Good. [But her smile wavers when he adds the question.]

I... I haven't definitely decided, but... [Yes. She looks down at her hands. They are suddenly very interesting.] Would you be able to not go home if you thought there was a chance you could make things better? Even a really, really, really slim one?

No. I wouldn't. That's why I won't try to talk you out of it. [Even if he really wants to.] Not unless you want me to.

I don't think you could. [Is she admitting that this is the plan? Is this the plan? Do they even need a plan? This isn't happening. Something might be happening, but not this. Not choice. Not autonomy. Not the power to guide their own fates.] Even if I kind of wish you could.

I wish I could do. [He admits sadly.] I wish I could give you the happy life that you deserve.
