( come away with me / to the finale )
Who: Everyone!
Broadcast: No
Action: Planet-side
When: Now

[ located between the beach and the forest, there seems to be an open air party happening. on the beach, there seems to be rows of white tables loaded with food. entrees, side dishes of all shapes, sizes and types. thereās something for everyone here to take and try out. and true to his word, taako has set up two large tables for desserts; cakes, cookies, fruits and two large chocolate fountains for people to dig things into. if you miss something, donāt worry, the tables are quickly refilled by ghostly waiters who bring them out on little trays for you to pick out and try.
a little further into the forest, there is a dance floor. nothing fancy, just leaves that carpet the ground, but on a table rests a few masks that you can try on and they will have you dressed in an appropriately fancy outfit to take to the floor. once you take off the mask, the glamour fades, so feel free to use them for as long as you want. the music that plays ranges from soft, easy jazz to livelier beats. where is it coming from? who knows, but you can probably say your preferences out loud and it will change for you.
if the party is too much or too busy for you, thereās a small area in the woods, laden with pillows and rugs for you to relax and soak in the atmosphere. not everyone is a party person and loki has accounted for that. ]

He tells himself that he doesn't have to stay long.
And he also tells himself there's nothing wrong with presenting himself as he's most comfortable. Information can be shared, plans can be made, but nothing and no one can account for all possibilities. It has him on edge, the mistrust he's felt since he became a part of the Fleet ramping up even higher given the events since their approach and arrival to this strange singing planet. That part of him that's still the Soldier boils under the surface, needing to find the threat, needing to eliminate it. He's a predator, more than half feral more often than not; he should loathe it, he knows. Shouldn't lean into it, shouldn't draw on the unique set of skills he never wanted. Perhaps HYDRA had done its work too well with him, that the idea of relaxing to enjoy a party seems foreign and wrong.
The clothes in which he feels most comfortable are all leather and kevlar and it's what he wears even now, the tactical gear more comfortable than even his human skin. He doesn't bother to hide the gleaming metal of his left arm, preferring the freedom of not having to deal with fabric catching against the plates and vents as they silently slide with his movements. If the sight disturbs others he can't be bothered about it; it's a part of him now, to the point where a natural arm would feel unnatural.
It's as much a threat, a weapon, a warning as anything else about him.
He arrives relatively early into the event, from what it looks like, though he's far from the first person there. He eats little and drinks only water. He skirts the dance floor completely; his grace isn't in twirling and turning with a partner, but rather in the smooth stalk that is his natural gait. The quieter areas of the party suit him better than anything else and ā because he'd promised to make an effort ā he is attempting to be at least somewhat less standoffish than his norm.]

so there is a smile on his face, genuine, even if it's faint and tremulous at the corners. under scrutiny, it probably would shatter but loki has always been stronger than people gave him credit for. he's also dressed in style as he approaches bucky. ]
You came.

He meets Lokiās smile with a tentative one of his own. The fancy outfit suits the other man well.]
Because you asked.

I'm glad you're here.

Is all this a result of your magic?
[Itās impressive if so, if heās seeing the evidence of Lokiās skill. He really doesnāt have any experience with magic and doesnāt know what it can do and whatās simply fairytale.]

Her eyes are a very obvious shade of red for a moment before she reins it back in.]
You're here.

[He's not comfortable in this kind of setting, around other people, and he doesn't want to stay for long. But he'd promised Loki that he'd show up, so here he is. And Wanda has been kind, every time they've interacted; she'd even taken him flying, something she didn't have to do. He appreciates her cautious consideration, which is why he doesn't mention her red eyes at first, but after a moment of consideration lowers himself to sit on the floor nearby.]
You're here too.

[There's a weighty choice hanging over them, if they can even pull this crazy plan off, and Wanda's just trying her best not to think about it. This is going to end in tears no matter what.
But also it's nice to just recharge a little before rejoining the party. She can still hear the music, at least.]
no subject
[Mostly, because of course there had been potential issues on the other planets they've seen recently, as Wanda had found out first hand. But overall things have seemed almost calm. Of course it has him on edge.]
And it's nicer here, away from the commotion.

Please. I am too good a dancer to let that happen to the both of us.

[Steve is all smiles as he pulls Loki onto the floor and arranges himself to follow the other's lead.]
So. What are your plans, then? Staying?
no subject
This universe is the Atroma's making. Or has shades of it. I rather not stay here.

It is peaceful here, [she says softly, unsure what else to say. There's so much hanging over them now, so much that Wanda doesn't want to think about. When all of this ends - as it sounds like it very well might - it's going to hurt. A lot.]
no subject
I made sure there was a little of everything here.

[She's missing several critical pieces of information or her tone would be much more somber. Right now she's mostly operating under the assumption that Vision will want to return home while she's inclined to stay. The worlds they've visited have, for the most part, treated her far better than Earth. And she'd stay on the singing planets forever if allowed to. This could be a better home than she'd have to return to.]

I hoped it would at least serve as some comfort. A last chance.

When he comes up to Loki at the dessert table, he's already gotten a plate of food from the other table. He pokes Loki in the shoulder with his free hand.]
Isn't that fountain yours? You look like you've never seen it before.

No, mine is with my belongings. And I can appreciate all chocolate fountains.

It's gotten slightly easier to bear with the planet's thrall when focusing on others. Even so, that's still a number of people in one location, despite the way the fleet seemed to be diminishing of late, which starts to feel a little too crowded when one isn't the mingling type, harder to focus when there's too much to focus on.
So when Loki has the chance to approach her, she's by then retreated to one of his thoughtfully offered cozier cushioned areas with Kova, the cat happily enjoying a plate of food just for him. Meanwhile, she sits with her own, barely touched plate of sliced fruits.
She does need the nudge from the cat to at least warn her that someone's approaching, though there's certainly more than enough room left next to her. ]
