[ located between the beach and the forest, there seems to be an open air party happening. on the beach, there seems to be rows of white tables loaded with food. entrees, side dishes of all shapes, sizes and types. there’s something for everyone here to take and try out. and true to his word, taako has set up two large tables for desserts; cakes, cookies, fruits and two large chocolate fountains for people to dig things into. if you miss something, don’t worry, the tables are quickly refilled by ghostly waiters who bring them out on little trays for you to pick out and try.

a little further into the forest, there is a dance floor. nothing fancy, just leaves that carpet the ground, but on a table rests a few masks that you can try on and they will have you dressed in an appropriately fancy outfit to take to the floor. once you take off the mask, the glamour fades, so feel free to use them for as long as you want. the music that plays ranges from soft, easy jazz to livelier beats. where is it coming from? who knows, but you can probably say your preferences out loud and it will change for you.

if the party is too much or too busy for you, there’s a small area in the woods, laden with pillows and rugs for you to relax and soak in the atmosphere. not everyone is a party person and loki has accounted for that. ]

[ he chuckles. ]

I suppose I've had worse, though that does not make me receptive to my time here.

Worse and better perhaps, though this has been different, if nothing else. I suppose that makes it not entirely bad but that’s the thing of this Fleet, isn’t it? It’s not entirely bad.

That is what bothers me at times. The line between worse and better.

The fact that it exists, or the fact that people seem not to care?

[He cant imagine being truly comfortable here the way some people seem, but he doesn’t know how much of that is his own paranoia.]

Both. It is no true freedom but we have to take advantage of what is given to us. It sits ill with me, even now.

[sinistral]

It sits more ill with me knowing that there are those who are comfortable or even happy with it. I can’t imagine being so willing to accept a yoke around my neck.

Indeed.

But this place has some strange types.

And I suppose I must be thankful for it granting us the opportunity to meet, loathe as I am to give our captors any credit. You are a rare person.

[ oh. loki smiles at that, squeezing bucky's hands. ]

[He's heartened by the smile; he'd feared that he'd brought Loki's mood down, when that hadn't been the intent at all. He returns that squeeze, careful not to use too much pressure with his left.]

That's kind of you to say, especially with others here wearing the same face as me.

But that is all it is. A face.

[ he could say more, about how disastrous his interactions have been with the other bucky. how the man insulted him and then took advantage of his weakness to get the answers he wanted, to see the absolution of loki's soul. ]

I guess it's a small insecurity speaking, the wish that you don't see someone else when you look at me.

I knew you first before I knew of the others.

The first impression doesn't have to be the strongest, but I consider myself fortunate that in this case it is.

No, nor did I mean to imply that you'd be so shallow. I'm glad you're not like others.
