Hello, everyone. My name is Quatre Raberba Winner. It is nice to meet you all.

I am sure that this has happened often, but I have some questions about this place if anyone would be so kind as to answer them.

Action - Huntress
[After a short time on the ship called the Marsiva, Quatre found himself here... on the ship called the Huntress with some surprising random fanfare.

So he sets out to explore the ship, see who else is there and what the ship is like. It was weird, he thought, that he had been assigned as a cook when he had so many other useful skills... Well, maybe he can put them to use anyway]

Action - Planetside
[This planet... this planet was beautiful. It was everything he had ever pictured planets to be. He takes to wandering the settlement enjoying the scenery.

But he can hear it, practically feel it in his space heart. The planet is trying to say something to him. To all of them. He's sure of it. As much as he loves the scenery, this part bothers him greatly. In the early morning, he stands, trying to figure out the planet is trying to say]

I can't remember a day in my life where I haven't had it. To suddenly not be able feel these thoughts... it would be odd for me. It's one of those things where you can't tell how it would be for others because you've never been without.

Yeah. I can understand that.

[Keith smiled a bit weakly.]

I um... I have this sensitivity to quintessence where I can pick up on it and locate it. It's like feeling an energy that doesn't match anything else around you. But, it's not really something I talk about a lot.

Still, I don't know what I'd do without it. It would probably feel like losing one of my senses.

[Quatre didn't even seem the least bit confused by what he was telling him, it all made perfect sense to him]

Yes, it would probably be the same. Neither of us have lived a life without that so its normal.

That's interesting though. What is quintessence exactly?

[It was actually kind of nice to have someone who understood...]

Allura called it a "life force". All living beings in the universe have it in some way. Some are more in tune with it than others, and can actually use it for things that are almost like magic. Allura is really good at it, too. She can actually heal people.

[If he knew what Keith was thinking, Quatre'd agree]

Oh I see. That sounds really fascinating. I've never heard of something like that. I wonder if there is something similar in our world. I don't know of anyone who can heal using energy or if they do, it's usually a random claim.

Well, Allura isn't human, so that's probably part of it.

[Keith shrugged.]

Alteans are more naturally in tune with quintessence than humans, and Allura just happens to be even more so than most Alteans, apparently.

Alteans? So they are naturally able to do things like that? Oh, then that explains more about how they were able to make robots that can think for themselves.

[tempredmental]

[Keith nodded.]

Yeah. That might have something to do with it. I think Coran said that King Alfor said he felt like the reaction between quintessence and the comet ore he used gave the Lions the ability to communicate and select the Paladin they felt most drawn to. When he was telling us about it, he said that Alfor felt like the Red Lion started watching him and then eventually almost communicating with him as it was in development... that they almost influenced their own designs.

Wow... communicating with others and influencing their own designs? That's really something. I can't believe I have the chance to see something like that. Even if it is really small at the moment.

[tempredmental]

Yeah. [Keith looked back at the Lion in his hands, and then put it back on the floor. Black flicked his tail and then turned to look at Keith expectantly. If he was no longer needed......]

Right.

[Keith opened the door to the Bridge so the Lion could leave. He was a little small to do it on his own.]

[Quatre watched the exchange as the robotic Lion waited for Keith to open the door for it so it could leave. He smiled, but said nothing until it was gone]

Just like a normal cat. Needs help to leave when it wants to.

Yeah. They're too small to trigger the door sensors.

[Keith smiled a bit.]

Well, it was nice meeting you. I'll let you get settled in. Pick any room you want, really. Lance and I are sharing the captain's quarters right now.

Of course. It was nice meeting you as well. I think that will be my next stop, finding a room.
