Who: Ino and YOU!
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: Station, Three Twins
When: Today!
[ Hello Droot Floot! Have a tiny blonde sitting in her captain's chair to make this little announcement/PSA/proposition of sorts. When she speaks up, her tone is friendly, but formal, in its own way. ]
Hi everybody! Ino, captain of the SS Three Twins, if we haven't met already.
[ Not, you know, that Aaron loser who was pretending to be her awhile ago. Gosh. B( ]
--Just a few things ... !
First of all, it seems like everyone is making decent headway on repairs, but is there anyone who's in dire need of some parts that hasn't gotten them yet? Let me know, I'll see what I can do about getting something sent your way.
Secondly ... well, I know not all of you were here for it when it happened, but the reason we're stuck on this little station and not somewhere cooler is because we were attacked by some sort of enemy forces. Nobody was hurt too badly, but the ships themselves weren't so lucky. Unfortunately we're still pretty in the dark about who they were or what the point of the whole thing was, but that doesn't mean we can't do anything about it!
That being said, there are two important things we need to work on. The first being making sure everyone on every ship at least has a little bit of experience with every possible augment. Between your crews you guys should be able to teach each other the basics! And, of course, if you're missing some and don't know who to look to for information, let me know, or ask around. Or, if you happen to have one of the rarer augments, feel free to volunteer here! After all, knowing what to do in a situation of distress is crucial!
And the other thing being, we really need to work on, you know, our actual plans in case we get attacked again. Teamwork, strategy, that sort of thing. Once all the ships are up in the air again I think it'd be a good idea to run some practice formations and stuff like that, so we can easily communicate what needs to be done to get out of a situation like that safely if it happens again. Since, you know, there's a pretty good chance it might!
Any thoughts? Other captains? Other people? Of course, my crew doesn't really get a choice.
[ She grins. Sorry, Three Twins! ]

[ A pause ...]
... What do you mean by that?
video;
Those who don't like the idea of causing harm, defense as an offense, pushing a button and watching things take damage or explode. [ He's obviously fairly indifferent about it. ] ... I suppose it would have been less... odd, to say "those who would be willing to potentially kill". [ He's screwing up language again, isn't he. ]
video;
... Ah. Yeah. [ She frowns ] Well, you don't necessarily have to be willing to kill to be willing to defend and protect. I mean, we got shot at but didn't die -- it was just bad enough where we needed to retreat.
video;
Hopefully all that meet with defenders would do as such - but there's still a possibility. Or if someone shoots wildly, that something struck would cause major damage. [ Okay lets think and find why he wanted people who were willing to deal with possibly killing people to take up secondary gunner- ]
.. If I had to rely on someone to defend me, I would prefer it to be someone who wouldn't panic because they may have killed someone on accident.

[ Point for both sides then. ]

[ ... Which reminds him, he needs to test magic in space. ]

[ There's always something to do, in Duke's head, but that's besides the point. ]

But he also most definitely isn't a captain on his ship, so he probably won't do more than maybe sneak "so what can you do" into a conversation somehow.
... Also he doesn't think he has anything else to add to this conversation anymore. Awkwardly lifting a hand in a short "bye" sort of wave before he just. Closes the video.
Guess who only sort of got better at ending conversations. ]
