Who: Ino and YOU!
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: Station, Three Twins
When: Today!
[ Hello Droot Floot! Have a tiny blonde sitting in her captain's chair to make this little announcement/PSA/proposition of sorts. When she speaks up, her tone is friendly, but formal, in its own way. ]
Hi everybody! Ino, captain of the SS Three Twins, if we haven't met already.
[ Not, you know, that Aaron loser who was pretending to be her awhile ago. Gosh. B( ]
--Just a few things ... !
First of all, it seems like everyone is making decent headway on repairs, but is there anyone who's in dire need of some parts that hasn't gotten them yet? Let me know, I'll see what I can do about getting something sent your way.
Secondly ... well, I know not all of you were here for it when it happened, but the reason we're stuck on this little station and not somewhere cooler is because we were attacked by some sort of enemy forces. Nobody was hurt too badly, but the ships themselves weren't so lucky. Unfortunately we're still pretty in the dark about who they were or what the point of the whole thing was, but that doesn't mean we can't do anything about it!
That being said, there are two important things we need to work on. The first being making sure everyone on every ship at least has a little bit of experience with every possible augment. Between your crews you guys should be able to teach each other the basics! And, of course, if you're missing some and don't know who to look to for information, let me know, or ask around. Or, if you happen to have one of the rarer augments, feel free to volunteer here! After all, knowing what to do in a situation of distress is crucial!
And the other thing being, we really need to work on, you know, our actual plans in case we get attacked again. Teamwork, strategy, that sort of thing. Once all the ships are up in the air again I think it'd be a good idea to run some practice formations and stuff like that, so we can easily communicate what needs to be done to get out of a situation like that safely if it happens again. Since, you know, there's a pretty good chance it might!
Any thoughts? Other captains? Other people? Of course, my crew doesn't really get a choice.
[ She grins. Sorry, Three Twins! ]

... That is literally what I'm doing. Asking the other captains what they think. I am not telling anyone they have to do anything, except for my own crew. It's a suggestion with my reasoning behind that plan of action attached on.
If you want to act all high and mighty like you know what you're doing, try actually listening first.
video
Oh, I listened, and while they're good suggestions, you went about it wrong and thus ruined any chance of a majority actually going along with it.

The captains are randomly assigned, so it would be a mistake to close it off to captains only. Some of the captains don't take their duty seriously, or have crew members who know a lot more about combat or, you know, actually being in space. If everyone is involved then there's going to be more and better feedback.
If you think that was me trying to force anyone to do anything, then I don't know what to tell you, except that it would be a lot more productive for you to talk to your shipmates about this instead of playing the Tone Police.
video
What better feedback, that you're trying to get something to work despite not knowing how to coordinate properly? Yes, captains are assigned and yes, some may not want to do the job, but that's why you check first. If you have a comms officer, get them to ask others about the proposed ideas. Even if you don't, you previously pointed out that you know people in the fleet, so speak to them individually and ask for their help. That's what a good leader does, use their resources to their advantage to get what they want done. What you've been doing with this is blowing hot air around instead of getting to work to properly get what you want accomplished.
I'm very aware of what you were attempting to do and well aware that it isn't going to work with the way things are now. And so you're aware, I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to this, considering that I was once the ruler of the Underworld back home and the only person who held the position to actually unite all of the demonic factions under my rule and stop them from fighting among each other. I will speak to my shipmates as well as my captain on what you're proposing, but who knows how that will turn out?
[He then shrugs and grins widely. He knows how that will go, considering his captain is also his son.]
video; 1/2
Okay, hold up. Are you ... are you actually comparing me bringing up the fact that we need some work to -- to ruling some kind of demon land?

Right, okay. Never mind. Yeah. Talk to them, please. Thanks.
