Hello. I'm Allen Walker, first mate and one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish. I know there's been a lot of new faces, so it's nice to meet you all- sorry you got dragged into this.

[He clears his throat] Anyway a few quick things today.

First of all, I know many of you have been busy with securing engineering parts for the ships, but the clinics are still looking for supply donations. If you have anything you can donate to the clinic in regards to medicine or basic supply, I would be happy to pay you. [He links a supply list] If you're looking for specifics for ideas, I have some requests in that attachment. And if you like to make some supply requests of your own, you can do that as well too.

Second, it seems we've acquired a great deal of doctors, medics and healers. Welcome aboard! If it's possible, I would like to meet you so I can get to know of your capabilities and what resources you might need. Thank you!

And last of all, for anyone interested Dr. Crusher and I are offering lessons in first aid. Even if you have a medic on your ship, it's good to know these things just in case of emergencies. If you were assigned as a lab assistant but have no prior medical experience, I highly encourage you to come so we can make sure you're properly prepared. If anyone is interested, please contact me! And oh yes, there will be food.

What, you want a written history? We'll be here all day.

[He ticks off on his fingers.]

I started training when I was young, which is--Light knows how many years now--and I served as a combat medic in the Troll Wars for years. I did triage; sewed together limbs; that kind of thing. And magic.

[He makes wiggly gestures with his hands.]

It's all a big mix of bandages and stitches and Light.

[Did he just...wiggle his fingers at him? Gosh. But at least he's pretty unfazed by the whole explanation of magic. He grew up around magic, it ain't no thing. ]

I see. So you're very experienced at injuries- that's great! [We'll likely need it.] I mean, not great that there were injuries and Troll Wars, but- [He sighs. Whatever. Moving on]

But alright. And I suppose Light is some sort of holy magic? [Keeping the hell away from that] Is it just simple injuries it can heal, or can you fix diseases and other aliments too?

[hymnals]

Holy magic. Divine force. Universal energy. There's disagreement.

But I can bring someone back from the dead, should the Light will it. Along with anything lesser than that. Broken bones; gaping wounds. Diseases, corrosive magic, et cetera.

[There's the faintest sound that seems like dry amusement at the mention of disagreements. He knows that one.] There always is.

[And okay- that first one on the list? Is an actual new one for him. So you get him very surprised]

What?

You can even bring back the dead?! With Light?

Of course. Through the Light, all things are possible.

[He scratches behind one of his ears.]

It helps if the corpse is relatively fresh, though.

[There's a slight pause at Adra's sheer casualness about bringing back the dead using holy power. Through the Light, all things a possible - like it's some kind of normal skill that any light user could do. Because you know, it's not like that skill something only Jesus can do or anything. Noooo, not at all. Allen's just not trying hard enough with his God granted abilities. Sheesh.]

[Thank goodness, he's got a good poker face- so any bitterness doesn't show when he speaks. It helps that he's still mostly awed since he's never heard of a power like this through Light. Only the dark magics. ]

That's...that's still incredible.

How...[Gosh how to phrase this] How fresh do they need to be? Can you still do it when they're brain dead- or are there certain conditions for it to work? It can't be very easy.

[hymnals]

Being mostly intact helps?

[He shrugs, as though he can't quite fathom this line of questioning.]

Having your head on and your torso together, at least. But I've worked with worse.

[And he meanwhile stares, not quite fathoming how you could bring someone back from the dead when their head is gone, or at all really.]

Amazing, I've never heard of a power like that before....do all healers in your world have this power?

If they're worth even one damned copper, yeah.

Ah... I admit, I'm a little envious. It'd be nice to have that sort of power. [It's hard not to be considering his world. But right okay, swallow that pride Allen Walker]

But thank you for answering my questions, ...er, do you have a title in your world? [It seems like a dude that can bring back the dead deserves a title]

[He pronounces the word with the same inflection one might use for 'garbage'.]

'Magister', but it's just a political title. Nothing to do with my priest training. Otherwise, none.

[Wow what a pronunciation...it's so hard to tell how Adra feels about it]

Not fond of being called a Magister, I take it...?

No. Most others who carry it are utterly fucking worthless.

[He shrugs.]

As morally bankrupt politicians tend to be.

[save_the_souls]

Ah- I see. I guess that's a problem in most worlds...morally bankrupt and worthless politicians, anyway.

[Another reason to stay away from politics. Even if frankly, most of his political experience just comes from dating royalty once. Still, it was enough experience to teach him that even with sex, politics wasn't worth it. ]
