Some days, here, when Steph appears out of nowhere, Cass isn't always certain she's not dead. She thinks, maybe heaven is weird and they put you in space ships when you die. It's not something that she gives any credit to for very long, though. There's too much to point to it being real, too much violence for it to be a peaceful afterlife.
So that means she's alive, and Steph is alive, and they're in a small room in a space ship and that's supposed to be normal now. With a frown, she looks down at her work and then back to Stephanie. With that body language she sees in Stephanie, she almost feels like she's been caught doing something bad.]
No such thing, when it's you. Every time is good.

Just didn't want to bother you if you were busy or anything. But I haven't seen you in a while, so I thought I'd drop by before the ships all take off again...

I was here. [And Cass grins, amused.] You were busy. With Tim.
no subject
Did he tell you that, or... did I, just now?
no subject
You did. He did, too. Not with words, though. It's good. You should both... get second chance, together.
[There's a very small part of her that feels uncertain, but it's easier to push anything she might have felt for Stephanie down and far away so she can just focus on being happy for the other girl. She'd always been supportive of the idea of Steph and Tim and there's absolutely no way her own feelings would ever be allowed to get in the way of that.
She wants to be Batman in the future, anyway. Taking on one more of his traits can't hurt.]

Thanks. I... yeah. It's nice. It's more than I thought we'd get. Especially since... it doesn't sound like a second chance really happened when Tim's from. [ She doesn't know what that means for their future - she's trying not to think about it - but it's good now. That's what she cares about.
She looks back up at Cass, and after a second nods to the gun she'd covered up. ]
You think you're gonna need that?

[Cass would like to think that whatever happens Tim and Stephanie would eventually find their way back together, anyway. She glances towards the gun, but shakes her head.]
I won't. Don't like them. Other people might... need to use them, though. I can teach... where to shoot, that won't kill. They should be safe.

She wonders a little if she should ask Cass to teach her, if it'd make her more useful here... But then she imagines the look on Cass' face, if she asked, and... no. Maybe not. ]

A dead man, pale with his throat torn out and his blood all over her small hands. All over a pretty pink dress. What would she think then?
Still, Cass smiles. Hides behind it like shame and guilt isn't threatening to drown her.]
I can teach you. Maybe not guns, but... bladed weapons? There's swords here. Daggers.
no subject
She smiles, tiny but sincere. ]
Think I've still got some hand-to-hand to work on before I trust myself with sharp objects. I'd rather not give myself any more scars doing something stupid...
