I woke up this morning [from hanging upside down, as one does] and thought: what haven't I done since I got here?

[A pause for effect.]

Well, I'll tell you. I haven't gotten into any good fights. And I think that ought to change.

The cargo bay of the Caprine's open for sparring all day. Come on if you think you're hard enough.

[ Aha. That one hit gives Carol a better idea of how hard she can afford to hit, allows her to relax a little and actually spar instead of just testing limits.

Her body language visibly loosens as she slips into the rhythm of the fight: strike and block, dodge and counterstrike, along with a periodic attempt at a leg sweep or a throw, though catching hold of her for either isn't easy as fast as Mal is. Mal gets in a few solid hits, too, and though none of them seem to do Carol any real damage, the strongest of them knock her back, even knock her down if the strike lands right. Each time Mal hits, Carol grins approvingly. ]

[It's a fight with a good sort of camaraderie, Mal finds as they move together, back and forth, striking and blocking and sometimes connecting. The best kinds of fights are the ones that challenge you without making you fear for your life, and this is one of those. For all intents and purposes, she feels safe - but she's also seriously having to dodge, and she seems to be challenging Carol, too.]
