[Kaneis is sitting in the pilot seat on the bridge- though more like lounging. When Davesprite suddenly appears he's....less than fazed. Really, he's seen this enough times that it's hard to get jumpy about it. Instead he just...boredly looks at the new person as he brushes off stray confetti that fell on him]

Hey. [...] I'm guessing this is either a huge under-reaction or standard premeditated reality TV procedure. Actually definitely betting on it being premeditated since I got dumb confetti.

[He gives another look around.]

Is there a mandatory time limit before standing here gets awkward or weird.

[he shrugs at the second question since Davesprite answered the first one on his own]

But there's pudding there if you want it. [Points at the fancy pudding cups that are now on the dashboard of the comms station]

I guess? They give us pudding anytime we get a new crewmate.

[He's gonna just start eating it here and now.]

Kinda weird. I mean who's ever heard of celebratory pudding. It doesn't taste much like a mutant deposit of protein, either. [Said while peering into the cup.]

I dunno. Maybe they don't know how to make cake. That's usually the celebratory food, right?

Yeah, I think so. Maybe some ice cream and booze, if Asgard was anything to go by. And presents, if it's not an event dedicated to hobnobbing.

[He looks up, mildly surprised.]

Sylvar—uh, no, dude. [Sounds elfy.] I'm American. Ended up in Asgard thanks to interdimensional shenanigans with some other people, because they needed us to help save the multiverse or something.

[He shrugs like whatcha gonna do?]

[And the confusion continues, with a frown.]

Asgard needed some help with the multiverse somehow, so they brought in an American guy from another dimension to save them. [...] Sounds like a plot to an Earth movie.

[He considers this all for a moment and luckily, he's able to connect dots]

Hm. Either we're talking about different Asgards, or I really missed something when I visited that town.

It was definitely like the cheesy plot to an action movie, minus an excess of explosions.

[There were explosions; it was just really boring between that.]

But if your Asgard wasn't afflicted by a disease that turned normal people into faceless, shifting gray masses of body horror, it was probably a different city, yeah.

[His eyebrow raises some at the explanation of that Asgard. That sounds truly monstrous and terrible. ] ....That's unpleasant sounding.

But yeah, definitely a different city.

[One day he'll talk about how the cure was people's ~emotions~.]

What was the Asgard you're talking about like. I heard about another one when some dude started raving about how his identity had been stolen by a god, but most people only knew about it mythologically.

[Ew. Emotions. Gross.]

Identity stolen by a god..? That's weird.

[He gives a half shrug] Really there's not much to say about it. It was a city in Sylvarant- famous for a bunch of ruins that've possibly been around since before the Ancient War. Got a pretty good marketplace, nice inns too.

[For Sylvarant anyway, that whole world was a bit of a shithole.]

Heard there was a false Wind Spirit there demanding human sacrifices for awhile, but that's about it on the freaky front.

Huh. [Wow, outside of the human sacrifices, this alt Asgard sounds almost quaint.]

We never had any wind spirits, but there was a war. Ice giants going up against the resident gods to bring about Ragnarok or some such shit.

[He shrugs, setting the pudding cup back down.]

Never heard of anywhere called Sylvarant, but it's not like we ever got a country or planet name. Yggrasil is probably as close as you'll get.
