[ Willing to venture away from the casinos and investigate the nearby green planet? Here's your chance, now that it's in range!

THIS IS A MINGLE. GET HERE. ]

[ Make your own prompts, explore the planet, spend a night there, piss it off by taking its plants, whatever! MAY STAR SYSTEM OOC POST for your reference on getting through the orbit, what's on the planet, etc.! ]

Cassandra?

[ Elize looks up, expressing mild surprise. ]

I'm alright.

[ She folds her hands on her lap, returning her attention to the field. The longer she stares at the flowers isn't helping her recall anything specific. Why else would she feel so drawn to those particular flowers though? Regardless, she doesn't budge from her spot, not displaying much interest wandering elsewhere at the moment. ]

I feel like I should know these flowers...

[Cassandra looks at the flowers, considering them for a moment before she crouches down to Elize's level, resting her elbows on her knees. She, herself, has never seen flowers like this before although they are beautiful.]

Are there flowers similar to this in your world that you know of?

[She can't imagine they are the exact same, but perhaps enough similarity that they stir a memory for her all the same.]

Probably?

[ A small shrug, then she sags her shoulders. Possibly a hint at her earlier childhood or something about her parents. It bothers her that she has barely any recollection of her past. A lot of clues, but no answers. ]

I wish I could remember.

[Cassandra is not the best person to look for when it comes to comfort. She tries, of course. She will always try. But she's not the best at it by any stretch of the imagination. Words are tricky things and she's far too blunt to use them in any subtle manner.]

[So, instead, Cassandra wraps a strong arm around Elize's shoulders.]

We could bring one back with us.

I... I don't know.

[ Elize greatly dislikes being alone and having someone around might just be enough for comfort. Although, she didn't quite expect Cassandra to be the kind of person to put her arm around her like that. She seems surprised, only briefly. ]

Won't it die?

[ She looks up at Cassandra with wide-eyed innocence. She doesn't have a clue about caring for plants... ]

Not necessarily, [Cassandra says with a small shake of her head.] We can take one with its roots and put it in something. You'll have to be sure it gets water every day, but it should be fine.

Cullen can probably help you take care of it.

I- I can water it on my own!

[ She says with a determined nod. Not that she's adverse to receiving Cullen's help. There are some things she wants to try doing herself, but she'll ask if she really does needs the assistance. ]

Good. [She gives Elize's shoulder a light squeeze before taking her arm back. She gestures to the flower in front of them.] Do you want this one here or would you like another one?

This one should be fine. Umm... does it really matter?

[ She can't tell much of a difference from the other flowers except that some of them don't look to be in full bloom yet. ]

Probably not.

[Cassandra has no idea though. She's not exactly a botanist. It was more about Elize's preference anyway. But with that decided, she moves a little closer to the flower and drops a knee. It's not ideal, but she uses a knife to dig into the earth around it until she can carefully extract it from the ground with most of its roots intact.]

[She wipes the knife clean on her pant leg.]

There. We should get it placed in a pot of some kind soon.

[ Elize patiently watches in silence and interest as the plant is removed from the ground. After Cassandra's finished, she stands, brushing off any dirt that may have stuck to her dress. It shouldn't be much of a walk back, since she didn't wander off too deep into the forest.

She does give a brief glance back at a path leading deeper through the trees, feeling some unexplainable urge to explore even further. But, she resists. She knows better than that. ]

My ship is docked outside of the forest. There might be something there we can use.

[Cassandra holds onto the plant, carefully packing in as much of the dirt around its base as possible. She does notice that glance into the deeper parts of the forest and immediately glad she suggested this. The last thing she wants is for Elize to go wandering in further, with or without Cassandra's watchful eye.]

Let's go. If you want, we can explore some of the forest together afterward.

[But not any deeper than this clearing, that's for damn sure.]

...alright.

[ Just "some of the forest", she agrees with. Admittedly, she's very curious about what's deeper in. She's strong and smart enough to fight off the urge to carelessly explore too much of the forest on her own. It's a stupid idea.

She holds her hands out, copying the shape of Cassandra's hands as she holds the plant. She doesn't want her to do all the work. ]

May I hold the flower? I promise I'll be careful.

Of course.

[Cassandra pauses a moment, bending down to carefully transfer the flower from her hands to Elize's awaiting hands. She waits until she's certain Elize has a good hold on it before she lets go completely, dusting her hands off as she straightens.]

Just like that, [she says, a short word of praise referring to how Elize is holding it before continuing along.] Is there anything like this forest in your world, Elize?

[ Walking along, she carefully handles and keeps the plant securely in her hands. ]

No... not really.

[ Only the purple flowers and the atmosphere give her a nagging feeling of familiarity. She pauses thoughtfully, trying to put together words in her mind. Amongst her traveling party, she was never very vocal when she thought something felt off, but she tries to now... ]

Don't you feel it? It's- I think it's mana...

I feel something, [Cassandra admits.]

[It's something that certainly had Cole spooked and bothered, although he seemed more afraid of what would happen should Cassandra stay the night. She couldn't really say if it was connected or not, however.]

I'm not sure the exact nature of it, but it does seem to be closely related to magic.

This planet doesn't look anything like my world, but... it also feels... almost the same.

[ Like home. Spirits and mana played some sort of role with nature on Rieze Maxia, where it felt to be full of life. The sensation on the green planet feels similar. She really doesn't know what else to make of it, having not further investigated planet to feel any more unsettled. ]

You have the gift of magic then?

[This isn't said as an accusation. Cassandra is actually about as close to gentle as she possibly can be in asking.]

Um... yes.

[ She seems surprised for a moment. It's not a question that comes up much, but with how she's able to pick up on the planet's life energy, it's more obvious to show that she has magical talent. ]

I'm a spirit channeler. I... think most people on the fleet would call me a mage?

[ Mage isn't a common term where she's from, but that's pretty much what she is. ]

[Cassandra nods, seeing as how that's the exact word she'd use to describe it.]

Have you received any training?

[There's nothing more dangerous to others as well as the mage themselves than a mage who hasn't received any training. Cassandra doesn't care, in all honesty, if the training comes from the Circle or elsewhere. A mage left on their own with no guidance puts everyone at a potential risk. Not everyone can be Solas.]

Training? I don't remember.

[ She always had cast spells without any problems, opening up channeling circles and performing incantations with ease. Channeling spirits is a feat that any person from Rieze Maxia can perform, but for children as young as Elize to easily have control over those powers without any training... it's seen as unusual to most. ]

Alvin said I can channel spells based on intuition alone.

[The lack of training is somewhat of a concern, however,]

Is Alvin another mage?

Uh... yes?

[ She doesn't sound very sure or it just feels weird for her to use the word "mage" a lot to refer to people from her world. ]

He channels spirit energy differently from the way I do though.

[Her initial answer doesn't exactly inspire Cassandra with an overwhelming about of confidence, but the follow-up covers for it a little.]

Does he have more experience than you?

I'm way better and way stronger than he is!

[ Proclaiming it with so much confidence.

She probably shouldn't compare since she specializes in a different kind of artes compared to Alvin. Normally, she wouldn't brag like this either. She dislikes Alvin and would hate to say that he's more experienced. ]
