[Elena accidentally manages to start broadcasting as she's moving through the hallway. The camera follows the light swing of her arm, providing a view of the floor and her legs. She's silent, although really tamping down on the urge to call to people she knows. Staying quiet and remaining as inconspicuous as possible seems like the more logical thing to do in this situation.]

[It's only once she's come to the viewing bay that Elena stops short with a small gasp.]

Oh my God...

[She had been debating if this was a dream or real, but something about seeing outside into space makes this all very, very real. Slowly, she approaches the glass. She places both hands on the glass and through her fingers, you finally get a look at the girl accidentally broadcasting to the entire fleet, confused and upset.]

I'm sorry.

[She's sorry for bringing it up and sorry that he's the only one. That can't be easy for him and she won't pretend like it is otherwise. As far as she knows right now, she's the only vampire and that's a pretty lonely feeling, but she can pass for human. She can still be included and not looked at as different.]

[And it's not like vampires where she comes from are their own unique people. They're just people who live forever and sometimes do very questionable things.]

That must get really confusing without the sun around to tell you the time, [Elena says slowly and thoughtfully. That's not something she'd really considered until just now in all honesty.]

[ And "here", she gets a close up of his finger. Definitely a sort of smooth pale purple bark texture. ]

That's something at least. [She sighs, running a hand through her hair.] I don't think I'm going to ever get used to any of this.

... It would be a little weird, to get used to it. [ .. He misses living in a place made of plants. Metal isn't that fun. ]

But it is also exciting! New places!

Yeah, I was told something about the planet we're near?

[She'd like his perspective on it, too, though. If he has one.]

Oh. That is a very nice new place. It is very green, all sorts of big trees! A little like home, but also very not.

[ .. He's a plant person, why wouldn't he like plant planet. ]

.. But the plants don't like to share. It is a bit rude of them.

Someone did mention that the planet was alive. She said the plants were reaching out to her.

They don't like it when they're bothered. But only if you bother them too much. The grass was okay with me moving it, a couple squares. [ He wanted to plant himself for a bit, okay. ]

But it wasn't okay when I did a lot of squares. I put them back when I was done, but they still weren't happy..

Are you usually able to tell how plants are reacting to things?

[It seems simultaneously a weird and rude thing to ask. Weird because, well, plants just aren't considered all that sentient where she's from, and rude because it's giving a voice to an assumption while trying not to assume anything all at the same time. Still, it's probably better to ask than just be left wondering.]

Somewhat. I know if they like lots of sun! Or not much sun, or what kinds of soil or how much water. But not like these ones. This ones get grabby when they're not okay with something.

So the planet really is alive...

[She doesn't know if that's more terrifying or cool, honestly.]

Or all the things on it are alive and friendly with each other.

[ That one seems to make more sense to him. Awake Sylvari gather experience for the next Sylvari, so maybe it was closer than that! ]

So instead of animals controlling the ecosystem, it's more the plants?

[ You know how little kids just kinda... yep, didn't get it? He's sounding a bit like that. ]

An ecosystem is a system. It's how a bunch of living things live with each other. So for example, grass grows on the ground because of water and the sunlight. Rabbits eat grass and a fox would eat the rabbit. What the fox doesn't need but the grass does gets returned so the grass can keep growing.

Plants where I'm from aren't like you. They don't have any conscious awareness, so they're seen as more passive. It's animals that usually influence the ecosystems.

Ooooh! And humans can hunt the fox, because it is eating their chickens, or they want to wear it, like Norn do? And then sometimes Jotun or Charr get the humans? And sometimes the other way around?

[ He thinks he gets it, he just didn't have the name for it! ]

Sylvari are like humans that way, I think? We just build green things rather than stone or metal things. And we can grow our clothing, instead of making it from cotton or leather!

[She's not sure what a Norn, Jotun, or Charr is and he's a little off the mark, but not so much she feels the need to correct him. He gets the idea that there's a balance involved that's carefully maintained by the destruction (as well as creation) of life.]

Every living thing is part of an ecosystem, but yeah. You guys are a lot more like humans than other plants would be since you're self-aware.
