001 Assemble! (video)
Who: Wanda Maximoff
Broadcast: Fleet-wide video
Action: Marsiva
When: Friday, May 22nd
[When the video feed clicks on, the only thing visible at first appears to be the ceiling on the inside of the Marsiva. After a few seconds of dead air, Wanda suddenly jumps into frame as she bolts upright in her sleeping cot. Her face contorted in panic, and a loud scream erupts from within her as she wakes from her nightmare. Her hand is outstretched, reaching for something not there. A loud bang accompanies her abrupt awakening, as off-screen a few of the cots opposite Wanda are thrown violently against the wall of the ship.]
[Her heart is racing, and her breath comes and goes quickly. She closes her eyes, lowers her arm, takes a few deep breaths and tries to calm herself. As she opens her eyes a second time, the expression of panic fades from her face, and she surveys her new, unfamiliar surroundings. She is now fully awake, confused, angry, and also a little bit afraid.]
Where am I? [Her voice shakes a little with her first question, but the following question comes out much more stern.] What is this place?
[She notices the communicator lying next to her on the cot. She picks it up and centers herself on the screen. Her face displays an expression of grim determination.]
Whoever is watching this... tell me where I am!

[ Misha stands to join her, resting her shoulder against the space next to the window. ]
Whoever put us here is really powerful and really depraved if this is their idea of good TV.
no subject
Did S.H.I.E.L.D. do this to us?
[She asks the question more to herself, and almost immediately follows it up with an answer.]
No, that doesn't make sense. What use would they have for a TV show?
[She's practically babbling to herself now. She clearly needs to calm her nerves.]
no subject
[ Her brow furrows at that, then she shakes it off. ]
Doubt it. Chances are it's nothing either of us have ever dreamed of existing before all this.
no subject
There is very little that lies beyond what I believe to be possible.
[Yet... here she was... with no explanation as to how she had been brought here, or how her captors had managed to pull it off without her realizing it. She then turns to her companion.]
Misha... That is a rather unique name.
no subject
Okay, fuck off from reading my mind or my past or whatever it is you're doing without my permission. It's pretty obvious and I'm not okay with it if you're just going to wave it around everywhere.
no subject
You would prefer I ask your permission then? What will happen if I don't?
[Wanda sounds more bemused than threatening, as she is rather curious to who this Misha really is. She had only read enough to get her name, and whether or not she was responsible for bringing Wanda to this place. She had not read deeply enough to uncover much else.]
no subject
There's nothing I can do to stop you and you probably know that, but I'd hope common human decency would keep you from poking into stuff that has nothing to do with you. Or at the very least, learn some subtlety. God. Do you like just alienating everyone by letting them know right off they've got no privacy with you or possibly anyone you ever talk to?
no subject
It is hard to feel alienated by people you no longer feel a connection to.
[Wanda does not mean to sound as condescending as her words would imply. Instead, she seems to have more of a tint of regret to her voice.]
Human decency... [She repeats the words, but adds no more. Instead, she just lets them hang in the air as she continues to look out the Marsiva's window.]
no subject
I feel sorry for ya, but that ain't my problem. If you don't even feel the slightest bit connected to people who have been space-napped and—implanted and put on this show with you, all in the same boat, then I don't know what to tell you.
no subject
You are right. I... was rude. I apologize. [She bows her head slightly. Then, as an additional sign of apology, she adds:] My name is Wanda. Wanda Maximoff.
no subject
Apology accepted. All right, Wanda, can I trust you won't at least go blabbing anymore?
no subject
no subject
Blabbing is just blurting out whatever you want.
no subject
[She tries to think back on what exactly she said over the course of their conversation.]
no subject
no subject
[She actually lets out a quick laugh as she finally understands what Misha was referring to. She had gotten so used to just reading people and then talking about what she saw. She honestly didn't even give it a second thought most of the time.]
Yes, I will not be "babbling" anymore about what I read from you.
no subject
Anyway. Space. [ She gestures to the window. ] Shit's crazy, right?
no subject
We really are trapped.
[Then an idea occurs to Wanda.]
If we are going to be placed on new ships soon, what is to stop us from just leaving with those ships?
no subject
[ She sighs, runs a hand through her hair. ]
Even if we drummed all that up, where are we? Where would we be going?
no subject
What about some kind of navigation system? Something that could tell us where we are? A map even?
no subject
[ There's the possibility of acquiring one outside of them, but Misha isn't sure how likely it is. There's just too little information here on the Marsiva. ]
no subject
There must be some way that we can escape this place.
no subject
[ For all her realism and debbie-downer attitude, Misha's not exactly acting defeated. ]
But, you know, we're on TV. Anything we come up with is gonna be shored up immediately so probably the only ways to figure it out is to do it in secret or otherwise find a way to communicate that they can't track.
no subject
[Wanda takes a moment to think this over.]
Yes, I remember you mentioning that. We are, as you said, prisoners-slash-entertainers. But...
[Wanda looks all around them.]
I do not see any cameras? How could they be filming us?
no subject
[ She sighs. ]
I'd kind of assume we're being watched unless you can prove it otherwise somehow. Better safe than sorry.
