Who: Luke Skywalker
Broadcast: Fleetwide (+ additional Blameless-only announcement.)
Action: on the Blameless.
When: 3/1

[Luke is sitting on the bridge of the Blameless, eyes bright.] Hello! I'm Luke Skywalker. [He waves.]

I was trying to think of a better way to ask this, but I realized it doesn't matter, does it? If the Atroma really watch our every move... [He cocks his head to the side, a tiny shrug.] Well, you know.

Anyway, I've heard of people disappearing from the fleet. Have you ever noticed anyone disappearing after doing something that might have made the Atroma angry? [Someone's feeling ballsy today. The defiant smirk on his face kind of backs up that interpretation.]

[He almost shuts the feed off before remembering-]
Oh! One more thing... I've been talking people here, and most of the ones I've met are from systems-- planets-- without spaceflight technology. Some even without flight technology. I was wondering... well, I was going to ask if there was anything I should know about that, but I don't even know where to begin asking! I can't even imagine it.

PRIVATE TO SS BLAMELESS CREW:

Hello, this is Luke. [He'd like to think he's on a first name basis with his crew, right?] I just wanted to thank everyone who voted this week. The results were in my favor, but... Azula, you definitely gave me a run for it!

[Such cheerful wow.]

And I wanted to welcome our new crewmates! Sara Lance is our newest security officer, and- [He pulls up the roster again-] Oh, good; we finally have a pilot. Carswell Thorne is their name? It's nice to have you aboard!

ACTION:

[After these announcements are broadcast, you can easily find Luke on the Blameless' bridge, sitting in the captain's chair, staring out the window, levitating what looks like a ballpoint pen over his open palm, and generally looking extremely bored.]

[Meditating is hard, okay; he'll try again in a minute.]

My world never had this sort of technology. Flight, electricity, communication devices... it was all new to me when I arrived here. What exactly were you curious about? How we do without?

[She laughs a little.]

It's not hard to cope without something you did not know existed. Sure, we lack for many of the conveniences that are here, but it isn't as we sat around all day with nothing to do. There are books to read, people to talk with. Going into town always netted a few hours worth of entertainment and diversion. My family rules the teyrnir of Highever, so often there were meetings and business to attend to as well.

That's what traveling is for, and learning new things. As for flying... no, not at all. The only ships in my world sailed on the water, not in the sky.

It is... odd. Fascinating, I'll admit, but odd. The stars are beautiful, but it's so cold and empty. And I understand so little of how anything works in this fleet.

But they're far away. And it's all so foreign. I've barely been outside my home land back in my world, let alone outside of my own world. I see the truth in what you say, but I do not know if I am quite at that point yet. I haven't been in the fleet even two months.

A bit, especially considering that the ships and shuttles can only go so far before Atroma pulls them back in somehow.
