Rew System Mingle
Who: You!
Broadcast: If you want!
Action: The Rew System
When: Month of February

[ After a week of traveling and glitches, the Marsiva finally pulls into its newest destination. It seems they've wandered out of human space for now, and into a system dominated by the Co'kal. Luckily, there's still lots for people to do and see, when they aren't dealing with even more glitches, that is.
In other words, it's a mingle!

Fenris | OTA
[As is his habit, Fenris spends quite some time working security jobs. Mercenary work is something he's used to, and it brings good enough coin. After being cooped up on the ship for so long, he welcomes the chance to stretch his legs and generally exercising his warrior capabilities.
Minor criminals and idiots trying to break into places they shouldn't aren't exactly the best opponents, but he'll take what he can. You may even catching him collaring an errant miscreant and dragging them away. Look, he hardly punched them or anything!]
B: Hallucinations
[Fenris hadn't been overly fond of the new planet, but he didn't hate it, either. It was just a place. Survivable. Nothing fancy. He decided he could get by for the time they were docked here for.
Or he did until he started to hear that voice again. The voice that mad his heart stop dead in his chest. Made his blood run cold and his stomach drop like a lead weight. He knew it was possible that Danarius would cheat death and come here- Felix had told him that was the case in Paradisa, after all. But a part of him never truly believed it would happen. Until today.
"Did you think you could run forever, my little wolf?" he purred in that awful, awful voice.]
No. You're dead.
[Fenris grits it out, with his usual ferocity, but his eyes; his stance, show something very different. Fear. A real, gut-wrenching fear. He backs away, before turning tails and running as fast and as far away as his feet can carry him. Probably right into you. ]
C: The Tourist
[Fenris spends the rest of his time on board the ship, for the most part. Someone who usually keeps to himself, the elf has taken to only staying in a room with someone else there. He does his utmost not to be alone. He knows Danarius isn't real. He knows this is some cruel Atroma trick, but it doesn't keep him from casting terrified glances around the room when the illusion of his former master returns to him- trying to coax him back, reminding Fenris that no matter how far he runs- he'll always belong to him.
Lack of sleep isn't anything new for the elf, but these days he looks exhausted. Worse, he looks genuinely scared and hunted. There's a constant edge to him, like an animal that's been cornered in a trap and is waiting for the final blow. He paces, and never settles. Sorry, Tourist crew, he's going to be a bundle of nerves until they get the hell away from this planet. Enjoy that.]
B
Riona's mood very quickly vanishes, however, when she sees Fenris booking it. Eyes wide in worry - because what in heaven would make Fenris run like that? - she hurries over in his direction.]
Fenris!
[She runs up to him, hand on her sword, ready to face whatever has him fleeing.]
What is it? You look...
[Terrified. Absolutely terrified.]
no subject
He's gone. Danarius isn't there. Breathing heavily, his lyrium fades. He doesn't understand. The man was there. It takes him a moment to collect himself, to finally focus on her. ]
I- He was there.
no subject
Who was there? What did you see?
no subject
[Fenris takes in a few wracked breaths, running a hand through his hair. The panic in his eyes is turning into confusion, but the fear is absolutely still there. ]
He was there. I- I don't understand.

...that sounds harsh, but she does care. Just. It was kind of unattractive.
She's keeping herself occupied looking through his stuff. ]
no subject
He's like, the worst company right now. Not sexy at all. ]
no subject
And then she has to laugh when she sees the cover. Literacy wasn't generally a trait of pirates, but then most of them weren't ex-merchants wives who got private tutors. Of course, considering her augment was what was letting her read this language, maybe it wouldn't have mattered either way. ]
Fenris.
Why do you have a treasure hoard of books about topless men?
[ There were so many. She starts flipping through to read some. ]
no subject
Oh sweet Maker she found them. He looks momentarily embarrassed, before clearing his throat and shrugging. ]
Atroma sent them me in a sponsor drop. To help with my reading.
[But hey, at least she got him out of his panic-spiral for a while. Go Izzy! ]

C (Before Kirk's own hallucinations set in, and pheromone active)
Tonight he came equipped with coffee and new books he'd picked up on the planet. Story books that he were assured were either humorous or romantic as Kirk had taken to thinking Fenris liked that sort based on what he had seen him reading. ]
Thank goodness for universal translators, right?
no subject
Something was different about him. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but it did at least push through the fog of the not-real to bring him back to reality. For a short while. ]
I...sorry? I missed that.
no subject
[ Kirk is quiet, waiting, not wanting to pull Fenris from whatever he saw to quickly lest the other lash out. Not that he thought Fenris would purposefully hurt him, but Fenris was deadly, and he suspected even more so when on edge. Patience. When Fenris did acknowledge him he raised the novels and waved them, their gaudy colors jarring in the room's dim lighting. ]
I bought some new books. With universal translators, we can read them. I thought it was about time you got some new ones for your collection, add a bit more variety.
no subject
Still, Kirk feels safer than usual today. He always feels safe, but Fenris finds he wants to be closer than usual. He moves a little nearer. He doesn't really smile, he can't manage it, but he looks curious at least.]
You...got me a gift. I- thank you.

A problem that has gotten worse the past few days, she's noticed, having watched her elf companion go from his normal sort of edgy to... this. It reminds her a little too much of Kirkwall, of the way he reacted when he had heard of Hadriana's arrival, of that day in the Hanged Man where they pained the floors with a fresh coat of blood. Frankly she doesn't like it; the way he's acting and the memories that flit across her head.
It's all she can do to stay close by, ensure he has some form of company, never mentioning that it serves her just as well. Marian Hawke doesn't complain about her own issues, about the ghosts that have taken to haunting her, for she doesn't think it important enough. Nothing new, really, only her dreams taken to tormenting her while she is awake instead of asleep. Much easier to focus on something else, on someone else, and that person just happens to be her boyfriend. ]
Want to hear something funny? [ She doesn't wait for an answer, continuing as though he said 'Yes Marian, I certainly do want to hear something funny'. ] I thought a saw a giant spider today and tried to kick it, instead I kicked a wall and almost broke my foot. Stupid, huh?
[ Someone give her a medal for at least trying. ]
no subject
He doesn't laugh at her shitty joke this time. It's hard to tell if he even heard it. He's too busy listening to everything else around them. Like he's waiting for a trap to be sprung at any moment. He realises she's spoken, though, and looks down at his hands, folding them together, trying to maintain calm again. ]
I do not recommend kicking walls.
[He tried, but it falls flat. There's no soft, quiet humour to his tone. But he tried. ]
no subject
[ At least an attempt was made, she thinks, it is better than none at all. Her lips curve slightly in a half-hearted smile before it falls, brow furrowing slightly. If she knew the cause... Hawke exhales, tired, and approaches him carefully, taking his hands in hers. ]
Hey, try to focus on me. Who knows it might help, and I am wonderful sight to focus on.
[ The humor doesn't quite fall the way she wants it too, her tone wavering ever so slightly. ]
no subject
His hands grip, a little tighter than they normally would. He forces himself to turn his eyes to hers. To ignore those old whispers that he shouldn't make eye contact, that he should keep his head bowed, that he wasn't worthy. He takes a few breaths, focusing on her. Just her. ]
I want it to stop.
[There's no sharpness to his voice. He just sounds scared. There's a wall of defence that Marian gets to see behind and right now, he's frightened. He wants it all to go away. ]

Hey. I didn't think I'd... [Her friendly greeting cuts off when she notices his manner. It doesn't seem like him.] What's wrong?
no subject
Sorry.
[He doesn't know why he apologies. It's just coming out, the old tics, not looking people in the eye. HE brought that out. Fenris thought he'd outgrown (or outrun) them a long time ago. He rubs the back of his neck, the augment is there. The augment is doing this. ]
It's- been a difficult few days.

[Not things. Just one thing. Person. He exhales, attempts a smile and fails miserably at it. ]

You want something to eat with that? [ as he gets making their drinks. ]

No, I don't think I could eat even if I wanted to. The drink is good enough, thank you.
