I just want to say that I really appreciate everyone's who's answered my questions about this place, but now that I've had a little time to get settled, [and stop silently panicking] I'm curious about what home is like for everyone.

And since you've been here, have you seen anything like home?

[And since she doesn't really expect to be able to ask and not give an answer herself,]

My world's nothing all that special probably in comparison to some of yours. It's 2012, Earth, with modern-day technology that's nowhere near as advanced as all of this. I live in Mystic Falls, Virginia in a country called the United States.

We do have magic, but I can't do any of it. I only know about it because my best friend was a witch. [And it's invaded every part of her life for the past couple of years, but ssshhh.] Magic where I come from has a balance, it's rooted in nature and spirits of ancestors. So the further down the line of witches you are, the more power you can have. But you have to maintain the balance of nature or the spirits of your ancestors will cut you off.

There are other kinds of magic, but they're bad news and not something you want to mess with. It has some really bad consequences for the user since it ignores maintaining the balance.

[And she leaves it there. She's not willing to out herself as a vampire or acknowledge the existence of other supernatural beings beyond witches and spirits.]

I am, yes. Which is why I was so curious about your friend.

[She gestures towards the cup that she had early moved to her hand.]

As you are likely aware, there are not many people back home who can do such a thing.

[She nods again.]

And they definitely don't talk about it much. Most people don't think it's even possible.

And yet, you would think after what happened in New York people would cease to question what is possible.

[Wanda's clearly still operating under the assumption that she and Elena are from the same Earth.]

[She tips her head a little to one side, curious.]

After what happened in New York?

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Okay, that question definitely caught Wanda off guard. How could she not know? Even in Sokovia, people knew about the Chitauri's attempted invastion in New York. It was, after all, the Avengers' debut.]

I thought you said you were from America, yes?

I am. But I don't remember anything happening in New York. [A beat.] Not anything recent anyway.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Then something Elena said during her broadcast registers in Wanda's head.]

You said you are from the year 2012, but do you remember the exact date?

Just a couple of days until September. Fall semester just started.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Given the year and the month... yes, the timing overlaps. Could she seriously have somehow managed to not hear of the attack on New York?]

You really do not know? The Chitauri- the alien invasion in New York. The Avengers? Surely that name should sound familiar to you.

[Elena's brow furrows a little deeper as she shakes her head slowly.]

I have no idea what you're talking about...

[This gives Wanda pause. Could it be possible that...]

We are not from the same Earth.

[She says it matter-of-factly, but, in truth, it's just as much a revelation to her as it might be to Elena.]

It doesn't sound like it. [It's not that out there after some of the conversations she's had with people.] You don't happen to know a James Barnes, do you?

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Wanda shakes her head. The name is unfamiliar to her.]

I cannot say that I do. I assume he is someone else who comes from "another" Earth?

He mentioned something about an attack with aliens.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Wanda's eyebrows rise in surprise. Could it be someone in the fleet is actually from the same Earth as her? It would certainly be a slight comfort, but still... that name didn't sound at all familiar to her.]

It could be the same attack. I guess I should try and meet this James Barnes.

I don't know what ship he's on, but I'm sure you could track him down easy enough. There's not that many of us here.

[A lot more than she would have expected or necessarily wanted, but still. It's not like trying to track him down in New York City.]

[Wanda nods her head.]

Yes, I imagine we shall meet each other soon enough.

[She shakes her head.]

I'm glad we could clear it up.

[As Wanda turns to leave Elena to her communicator, she can't help but vocalize one last thought.]

To meet someone from another Earth... I suppose there are some things that can only be experienced in such a place as this.
