A cry for help
[a distress call has been tracked across the void, finally leading back to the source. a hulking crippled ship, teeming with hostile alien life, now lies before you.
what do you do? do you dive in or hang back? are you here to learn, play, build, or observe?
however you choose to proceed, your audience is out there somewhere, watching.]
ooc: here is a good ol' themed mingle to get you all started! and don't feel limited by the prompts and what they describe--they're just there as idea-starters, so feel free to go anywhere and do anything.
have fun!

[It's the Commander Voice she gets, stern and powerful. He'd been scared when he couldn't find her, and of course his instincts told hhim she'd have gone inside. Thankfully, he has a sword--and Jove.
He steps between Elize and the insects, sparing her a glance to make sure she's not injured.]

Magic doesn't seem to bother them much, so we'll stay back and keep an eye on Cullen, won't we?
[Her armor doesn't exactly scream mage, but when she lifts her staff up a green barrier forms around all three of them.]
Worse comes to worst, I'll just open a rift on them. It worked on Tek.
[This joke is a very bad joke in very poor taste, you should probably not laugh.]
no subject
She watches in awe as the barrier surrounds them. Instant spells aren't something she sees much of in her world. Or at all. She never knew Jove also had magical talent. ]
...Tek?
[ Oops, not realizing that's the same pointy toothed jerk that tried to scare her repeatedly back at one of the previous waystations. ]
Y-yes. I can help with healing too, if necessary.
[ She still sounds rather shaken up. The herd of bugs had grown slightly larger since she fled from the entrance. ]

Healers are always a blessing, we're lucky to have you with us.
[And once the bugs are dead, she moves forward to look down the hallway.]
We really should scout out the rest of the ship, I don't like the idea of anyone else coming across herds of these and being unable to kill them.
no subject
[ Well, that was quick. Much easier than using magic spells against the bugs.
Then Jove's words brings her to smile. Does this mean she gets to tag along with them throughout the ship? ...Especially when she was just running throughout the corridors in fear?!
Even so, she's still willing to venture the ship as long as she has their company. ]
Scouting around sounds like a good idea.

If magic doesn't work on these--creatures, then it's best the two of you head back.

[She sounds equal parts amused and annoyed, but the expression on her face is enough to make it clear she doesn't appreciate his suggestion. If Elize hadn't smiled and looked like she liked the idea of helping clear the ship, things would be different, but as it stands her plan hasn't changed, regardless of how Cullen feels on the matter.]
Cullen, there's no telling if someone has gotten stranded and may be in need of rescue. We could find whatever is sending the signals to the fleet, or something else useful we may need. If you'd like to leave you may, but I intend to keep searching.
no subject
She moves to stand next to Jove, obviously siding with her decision. Besides wanting to help the fleet or whoever may be stranded, she won't let her search on her own. ]
I want to help Jove!
now in the right spot
It's too dangerous for Elize. [He does give the girl an apologetic look. He knows she wants to help.] Maker knows what else is here.
gently pats
Between the two of us, she isn't in any danger. I know you worry for her but if you'll think logically for a moment you know I'm more than a match for anything we'll find here. I have more than just a few spells at my disposal.
[Like a magic sword and a hand that can rip open time and space. It's really fine.]
She wants to help and practice will only improve her abilities. [Now she looks at Elize, giving her an encouraging smile.] You'll follow our orders and stay close, right?
no subject
She's confident in her abilities, already considered to be a master spirit channeler. She might seem nothing more than just a child, but she's familiar with being in combat with allies by her side. ]
Right. I promise I'll stay close.

Cullen sighs, shaking his head, but motions for Jove to lead the way.]

[There's probably going to be some awkwardness later, but for now Jove starts slowly down one of the dark hallways. She keeps her staff at the ready in her right hand, but the left she lifts up into the air. Green energy crackles around her hand, flickering and flaring before it steadies off into one constant light source.
Maybe not the best use for the Anchor, but the green light that floods the hallway is better than nothing.]
no subject
Jove's magic is amazing...
[ Hopefully she's not being too distracting by talking a bit, but she wanted to compliment Jove... ]
no subject
no subject
What you did was impressive too. [If a little creepy, but she does hang around with a man who regularly gets the spirits of fallen enemies to fight on their side for a few minutes any time they run into even the most minor of enemies. She's pretty used to creepy magic.] Where did you learn that?
no subject
Thank you. And... I don't remember where I learned it. I've always channeled spirits based on intuition.
no subject
Not sulking.
Watching.]

Channeling spirits? When we get back to the ship, remind me to have my friend Dorian speak with you. He does something similar and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to speak with you about it.
[He is a giant nerd after all. The hallway they're following seems to be fairly deserted, so Jove glances back towards Cullen and frowns at what she sees. Is he really annoyed enough that he's going to keep on in complete silence the entire time?]
no subject
I remember Dorian. He read a story on the network.
[ There was kissing in it. And she didn't get to hear all of it because Cullen covered her ears. ]
no subject
It was inappropriate.

[The Anchor pulses suddenly and Jove looks away from Cullen and Elize as she shakes her hand out, flexing her fingers and frowning to herself. It almost always hurts, but it having no outlet to connect to, no rift to focus the power on, makes it being active even more painful.
But they still need light and the corridor can't go on forever, so her hand goes right back into the air to light their way. In fact, it seems to just be curving back towards where they started.]
The ship didn't look this large from the outside. It's merchant class, so you would think we'd have come across some sort of cargo by now.
no subject
Tevinter?
[ After her encounter with the bugs at the entryway, she's finding their route has been far too quiet so far. She's expecting another herd of them to show up as the path winds back towards where they came from.
She notices as Jove looks away, thinking she might have been distracted or exhausted from holding up her hand. ]
Jove, are you alright? Stay alert. There might still be enemies!
no subject
We should have brought another source of light.
[They'll just have to move faster. His footsteps quicken, and he places a hand behind Elize's back to guide her along.]
