[There's a busted metal box right next to where Sokka is trying to dislodge something, and Ray drops onto it with something that might have been fluid grace if his legs had anywhere to go. He's grinning, and he takes the torch from between Sokka's teeth.]

[Ray, you are a scruffy angel. Sokka gives him a wide grin. ]

Thanks, man! I'm pretty sure I can't get this thing fixed again, but the parts are definitely salvageable,

Yeah, I didn't see anythin' we can really fix up again. Small parts, sure, but they don't connect right anymore. [He throws the torch from hand to hand while they speak, taps his foot.]

And I don't think we could get the entire ship running, even with all of us using all our resources together. Not with all these bug things crawling about. Better just cut and run with what we can get.

Hey, you think the bugs were here already? Like, they popped out the moment the engine trouble started? [What a gross idea]

Maybe? Or maybe there was just a queen and a bunch of eggs. Maybe something caused them to hatch. It'd explain why there's no sign of the crew.

Ugh. [He shudders, hunching his shoulders a little. Definitely gross.] You don't mean that they, y'know...

[He makes a chomping motion with his free hand, looking pretty thoroughly horrified at the mere idea.]

[Sokka nods, pulling a face. ]

That's exactly what I mean.

Gross. [He pulls a face and hunches, shining the torch anywhere but where Sokka wants it.]

That is just disgustin'.

[Sokka gets back to work, trying to free the machine part.]

These bugs are disgusting. It isn't a stretch.

[He eventually gets with the program and aims it the right way again, but he's still grimacing.]

Stretch? No. But sometimes I don't wanna make that stretch, y'know?

Nobody really wants to make that stretch. Sometimes, you need to, to be prepared.

Sure, yeah. [So has Ray, but even with his life, it's probably still less weird than Sokka's.]

Guess I got a whole bunch of new stuff I gotta be prepared for, now.

[It's really hard to beat the overall weirdness of Sokka's existence. It really is. ]

It's okay, eventually, you'll be prepared for everything and- actually, you'll still be caught off guard sometimes, but you learn to roll with it better.
