A cry for help
[a distress call has been tracked across the void, finally leading back to the source. a hulking crippled ship, teeming with hostile alien life, now lies before you.
what do you do? do you dive in or hang back? are you here to learn, play, build, or observe?
however you choose to proceed, your audience is out there somewhere, watching.]
ooc: here is a good ol' themed mingle to get you all started! and don't feel limited by the prompts and what they describe--they're just there as idea-starters, so feel free to go anywhere and do anything.
have fun!

However, her medical ethics won out, as they did every time, and she took extra care to avoid any bugs. Thankfully they seemed content to leave her alone as long as she left them alone, and she arrived with her medical kit, a simple stretcher made of canvas attached to two poles slung across her back.]
I brought a stretcher. How's the patient?

I- I can still fight. I can- I can still help.

[She lays a gentle, but firm hand on Wanda's chest, both to comfort her and to make sure she doesn't try to move again.]
There are plenty of fighters in the fleet. We'll be fine. Right now, you just need to focus on you.
[She looks up at Jennifer.]
We need to get her onto the stretcher, quickly, before any of the other creatures show up.

I agree- you can't even sit up. You're not going to be any use to anybody if the bugs get ahold of you again. [To Beverly, she added-] Where should we head from here? We'll definitely need a medbay.

My shuttle is docked nearby. I can fly us back to the Blue Fish, while you keep an eye on her.
[She positions herself behind Wanda's head, squatting down, ready to lift her onto the stretcher. She nods at Jennifer.]
Ready?

[She then nodded at Beverly and helped to lift Wanda onto the stretcher, then picked up both handles on one end.]
Do we know if there are any more bugs in this area? Or are we going to hope we don't run into more? I don't have any weapons on me aside from a knife inside my kit... [Which was probably a stupid idea, on reflection. But that was too late now.]

No, we're good for now.
[Putting the tricorder away, she pats the gun on her hip.]
But if we do run into any trouble, I've got my gun.
[She kneels to pick up the stretcher and says to Wanda.]
Don't worry, I have plenty of pain medication back on the shuttle. Just hold on until we get you there.

[Jennifer swallows, her professional mask slipping for a moment, revealing how scared she really is, before it's back in place and she's headed back the way she came, hardly feeling the weight of the stretcher in the face of her patient's plight.]

It's alright, it's only a little ways more to the shuttle. Just keep breathing, nice and steady.
no subject
It doesn't... exactly work, but thankfully, it's not much longer til all of them get to the shuttle.]
Dr. Crusher, you know what supplies you have better than I do- I can fly the shuttle back to safety. The hardest part is over.

[As they turn the corner, a screw wiggles loose from the wall and drops to the floor. Beverly glances down at Wanda with greater concern. During the fight, she had seen Wanda's telekinesis at work, so she is unsurprised by its presence now, just alarmed that Wanda seems to be losing some control.
Fortunately, they've reached the docking bay where Beverly's shuttle is waiting. As Beverly warned, it's an incredibly tight fit for the three of them, and they'll have to set Wanda in the cargo area.]

What's going-
[She cuts off when she notices Wanda's glowing hands. Probably magic of some sort, then, she thought as she took the shuttle controls.]
Are we set to go? [She hoped so; she was afraid her patient might lose further control, though through no fault of her own, and then they'd be in danger from a disentigrating shuttle.]

Engage!
[Some of that Starfleet command training coming out there again. She returns her attention to her patient. Fortunately, Beverly has stocked the shuttle with plenty of supplies from the Blue Fish's medbay, given what's been happening around here recently. She quickly and precisely loads on of the needles with an analgesic, wraps one arm across Wanda's chest to hold her still, and injects her with the medication. It will take a few moments for the pain killer to take hold, so she remains wrapped around Wanda until she can see how the woman reacts. If need be, she'll sedate her.]

I... am... sorry...
[The cargo and various objects around Wanda, that had been moving and shaking, suddenly cease their erratic movement. A few that had been levitating slightly off the ground fall with a soft thud. Wanda's head turns and rests on its side, as she slips into a deep sleep.]
