A cry for help
[a distress call has been tracked across the void, finally leading back to the source. a hulking crippled ship, teeming with hostile alien life, now lies before you.
what do you do? do you dive in or hang back? are you here to learn, play, build, or observe?
however you choose to proceed, your audience is out there somewhere, watching.]
ooc: here is a good ol' themed mingle to get you all started! and don't feel limited by the prompts and what they describe--they're just there as idea-starters, so feel free to go anywhere and do anything.
have fun!

Hmmm... then that is rather strange. Did these bugs build the ship all on their own? I... I just want to try and make sense of this. It's reminding me of a derelict ship we found in my world. [There are images in Simon's mind now- empty, dark corridors as seen through the bubble of a space helmet's glass visor, the feeling of death almost smothering.]

Pressing in closer, the emptiness is smothering, distorted through the glass.
I don't know. There's suffering, but I can't find it. There's no death, but there's no mind. It's empty, too empty, echoing endlessly, eternal emptiness.
[He pulls Simon's hands up over his ears, holding them there and breathing slowly.]

The emptiness on the other side of the glass... it... scares me. The idea of being that close to the vacuum of space, with only the glass of a visor separating you from it.
[He nods.]
Like the bugs are all... machines. Mindlessly doing whatever task they know how to do.
no subject
Machines... yes. No. They're empty. Machines have purpose. These... not right. COnfusing.

I think I may take River to see if we can catch one. Examine it, and see if we can find out more. Maybe... find out why they are so empty.

[And Cole turns to go and get Simon the corpse he wants.]
