A cry for help
[a distress call has been tracked across the void, finally leading back to the source. a hulking crippled ship, teeming with hostile alien life, now lies before you.
what do you do? do you dive in or hang back? are you here to learn, play, build, or observe?
however you choose to proceed, your audience is out there somewhere, watching.]
ooc: here is a good ol' themed mingle to get you all started! and don't feel limited by the prompts and what they describe--they're just there as idea-starters, so feel free to go anywhere and do anything.
have fun!

Anything specific, though? Is it anything like what you've seen before, or want to see?

...but he finds this exciting. so, he might not be able to explain why he takes the time to answer, but he does it anyway.
responding in the only way he can, he hoists up the heavy body of the bug, tilting it up onto its end so he can just show what he finds the most interesting. the fact that the corpse is oozing on him a little from broken joints doesn't seem to bother him.
beyond all the sharp limbs and what are probably mouthparts, he tries to show off what probably counts as the creature's face. he points at a few sets of orbs-on-stalks that are probably eyes, and then a few other dark points and open little pits right nearby. hairs and pores and a few small, soft features, maybe all for sensing the world around it.]

Is that — something we can use? How it sees?

and he loosely opens and closes his free hand in a wordless expression of frustration, maybe, and then points to all the damage done to this one's face. this bug is mostly whole, but its more delicate features are still far from intact. and this, he finds, is a problem.]

All right. I'll be gentle with the next one, unless you want 'em alive...
no subject
but then the mention of a living subject comes up... and there is a hesitant little gleam of excitement in his eye. tentative, because he's not expecting it to be a serious offer.]
no subject
Yeah, you heard right. Won't be easy, but I think we can manage. Follow me.

he nods and immediately moves to fall in step at the man's heel, like a good boy, ready to go hunting.]

I'll go in, be back in a couple a'minutes. If there's more from behind, find somewhere high up and I'll take care of it. All right?
no subject
by the way he tilts his chin up a little bit, and pats himself confidently on the chest, he may have taken offense to that instruction.]

You're a fighter, huh? Wouldn't've guessed. All right. You handle it. Be back in a sec.
