A cry for help
[a distress call has been tracked across the void, finally leading back to the source. a hulking crippled ship, teeming with hostile alien life, now lies before you.
what do you do? do you dive in or hang back? are you here to learn, play, build, or observe?
however you choose to proceed, your audience is out there somewhere, watching.]
ooc: here is a good ol' themed mingle to get you all started! and don't feel limited by the prompts and what they describe--they're just there as idea-starters, so feel free to go anywhere and do anything.

Be quiet, be still.
jesus christ cole
so, when something is suddenly there, where there had previously been absolutely nothing, it takes every ounce of his willpower not to automatically lash out. his energy even spikes--a well of death energy surging up to the surface, ready to be released at a target. he feels it sharp in his fingertips, prickling blood and nerves like an overdose of adrenaline, and barely manages to swallow it back down as he's pulled backward.
the only thing at all that keeps him in check, is the fact that Cole's aura registers immediately as familiar, as much as it is sudden.
he still hisses through his teeth as he startles, though, twisting his head to stare in disbelief.]
--You.

Shh. I can't keep them from seeing if you fight me.

and, quietly, he's just as curious as he is wary. upset and rattled and fascinated, he goes as quiet as he can.]

Once they're gone, he lets go of Tek.]
It's easier to hide than fight.

What was that? What did you do?

[He twists his fingers together.]
I've been making them not notice me. It's harder with two people.

[as if this is the first unexplainable thing about Cole that he's run into.]
You shouldn't be able to hide from me.

I just do it. I had to learn to make people see me. It's not like that now.

it's difficult for dragons to ever alter their worldviews, so he just... bends information until it fits into his. and something has finally popped into place and made sense.]
...So, before, you were naturally undetectable all the time. [--stated, instead of asked.]

[Because he was. Only Rhys could see him, hear him. He was forgotten and invisible.]
I'm not like that now. I changed.
